Pros: Has great reliability and quicker speed than my original 5400 drive that I replaced. Extremely quite compared to Seagate models I have looked at.

Cons: Too small after having it for 3 years.

Pros: None

Cons: Took this drive out of the package to format it and it died within seconds. This isn't the first time that I've had to deal with Western Digital about drives that come with the rattle of death right from the get go. Don't know how they (WD) are still in business.

Other Thoughts: Western Digital drives are Unuseable. I've been in business for over 20 years and have never, ever in my whole life dealt with such gross lack of quality control. It's non-existant! All I get is the run around and they send refurbished drives back. Pathetic to say the least

Pros: Very quiet and fast, great warranty

Cons: None; only time will tell

Other Thoughts: Ordered drive the day after Cyber Monday and paid extra for 2-3 day
shipping. Two days later Newegg notified me they were swamped and the drive hadn't shipped yet. Finally received the drive the next Thursday. As a longtime Newegg customer I have to say that I was disappointed since I paid for quicker shipping that I didn't get.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Hard Drive Replacement

Pros: I bought this drive in order to replace a failing drive in my Thinkpad T410. I took the old drive out and placed this guy in the Thinkpad's drive case and then put the case into the laptop. After restoring from a system image, I'm back up and running.

This drive is faster than the old one and also runs quietly without vibrations. I saw some people complaining about vibrations and noise, but at least in the ThinkPad T410, it works great!

Cons: None.

Pros: None

Cons: Well I was going to return this unopened as I had been given a SSD but after I found out there was a restocking fee and combining that with shipping I decided to use it. That was until I tried it and it is dead on arrival. The driver won't load and I hear a repeating whirring sound coming from the drive.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps I should have been aware of the restocking fee but in the future I will likely purchase at Best Buy as they don't have a restocking fee and I don't need to deal with shipping.

Pros: Came with much needed warrantee.

Cons: Eight months, to the day, of light usage and it's dead. Need I say more.

Other Thoughts: Spinrite has been running for 8 hours and hasn't gotten passed 14%, which indicates a totally failed disk. Hoping to salvage the data from my friend's PC before I RMA it to WD. My experience over the past several years has bbeen terrible with WD, Seagate and Hitachi. Failure rate is close to 40% and, except for laptops, the environments have been very well ventilated with bronze power-supplies behind APC Smart UPSs. My question is, does anyone make reliable drives anymore?

Pros: Just as advertised. Has also survived a few falls of my laptop.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I forgot to buy an adapter for my laptop so I had to pack the bay with a bunch of plastic bits cut out of the case the drive came in. Still works, even with my hackjob.
