5 out of 5 eggsWorking great so far

Pros: Speeds on this thing are excellent. not anywhere near an SSD, but acceptable speeds for a Hard Drive. It moves about 20-40 MB/s when Im transfering programs from my old computer to this one.

Cons: Can't find any as of right now

Other Thoughts: Not too loud and doesn't really get hot.

5 out of 5 eggscost per GB wins for now...

Pros: Vs the all so stupid fast SSDs this monster pales in comparison. However the cost per GB makes this a no brainer, for media storage.

Cons: Slower than an SSD.

Other Thoughts: For speed if your rocking a newer Intel chipset you could couple this with a RAM drive for ludicrous speeds. Or if your pockets incinerate as soon as money touches them. I would personally go all SSD, or more realistically for the rest of us use them for your OS and games, yes games do have a massive speed boost. Look for a controller that handles compressed data well.

4 out of 5 eggsmeh

Pros: It's a 7200 RPM hard drive with a 1TB capacity

Cons: It's just another 7200 RPM hard drive, nothing special.

And it is $35 more than when I bought it back in February of 2010

Other Thoughts: Dual processors and stuff can't make those platters go any faster.

1 out of 5 eggsDied within 8 days

Pros: Have 2 other WD Caviar Black drives and have been very pleased with them.
Great value from Newegg on this 1TB drive.

Cons: Not really much else to say - it died within 8 days of installing it.

Other Thoughts: Hoping that WD's support comes thru for me and replaces this drive - it does have a 5 yr warranty after all.
