5 out of 5 eggsGood, reliable HDD

Pros: I've been using one of these drives in my current PC for about a year and-a-half (have used it in more than one PC) now and it has never once failed me so far. Have got 16,449 hours (1.87 years) of power-on time on the drive with no bad or weak sectors detected on the disk.

Cons: None at this time, I've never had any problems or failures with the disk.

Other Thoughts: Newer models are now cheaper and easier to find.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Drive I Ever Had

Pros: It is over 5 Years and It is still working great. When I got the first drive in 2010 and it was DOA. Received replacement and it is still my main HD it my computer today.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I blame 90% Hard Drive DOA's on UPS, Fedex, Etc.
If you can see how they handle small boxes in the trucks you will see why.

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid performance and reliability

Pros: I ordered 3 of these for my new computer in mid-2009. It is now almost 2015 and not one has quit on me or given me trouble (Aside from what I'll mention in the cons).

These drives are fairly quiet, cool running, great performance considering they're 7,200RPM drives and are very reliable.

Cons: A few times this year, I had one of my drives 'lockup' after attempting to open or access files. The HDD LED indicator would stay lit and any program that I interact with would stop responding. I am not entirely sure if this is the HDD's fault, since there is no suspicious info in the SMART monitoring and scandisk shows no errors. However it only happened with that one drive and after a reboot, it would sometimes happen again after accessing it. Another reboot would usually fix the issue.

The price of these drives is surprisingly much higher than when I bought them in 2009. I would not recommend buying these obsolete drives. I recommend buying the newer WD Black drives which are half the price and have 2x more storage.

4 out of 5 eggsA decent drive for the price

Pros: -fast
-works wonders
-fast load times
-ease of install

Cons: -VERY LOUD
-I haven't experienced this problem, but i hear these drives are prone to failures. So be on the look out for ant signs that this baby is dying.

Other Thoughts: In short, its good, its fast, and its well built. Its a little loud but you can easily fix that if you want.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable drive, good speeds

Pros: I've been using this as my storage drive in my PC for about 8 months now, and have never had a problem. Has good read and write speeds, faster than my OS drive in fact, and it works well for backing up files. Also runs fairly cool, usually around 29-33°C. Price was also nice, as I got mine on sale.

Cons: Can't think of any at the moment to be honest, I've never had a single problem with mine yet.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Hard Drive

Pros: Everything, I purchased this drive in 2008, I have used it for the past 5 years as my main drive, formatted it 3 times in that period and it has worked as good as possible. I also have a seagate 500 that started making noises and I still have that locked away in some desk, but this drive is perfect. I am going to get a 2tb WD Black within the next month and ill use this one as a backup. I will never buy Seagate, WD is the way to go period.

Cons: none
