5 out of 5 eggsWestern Digital WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS Tech Expert Review

Pros: Product was packaged, wrapped properly brand new in sealed plastic bag, and performance as expected 10 times better then my old hard drive I had in the computer. I am very pleased with the performance of my new drive, doubling the space and speed from my old drive, quieter and easy to install. I had to use this drive to keep with the spec from my ACER Aspire L310 computer. Thanks TECH Experts for staying on top of your products.

Cons: Wish I could go to the new SSD, but my old computer would not accept it, this was the best I could do.

Other Thoughts: Enjoyed doing business

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: I, like many other reviewers that you see here, have had this thing for upwards of 5 years. It has never once given me a problem and I have shipped and transported this thing across the country a couple of times. It's fast but at this point see the cons below...

Cons: While there are still benefits to having HDD's over SDD's, if it's speed you're looking for, at this point in time you may make the switch to SSD's . While this thing has served me well and instilled an untarnished image of WD in my head, it is simply outdated tech at this point.

5 out of 5 eggswam bam

Pros: I've been using this drive as either my main boot drive or my main gaming drive since 2008! Still going strong. It has been in at least 5 different builds, shipped all over the world, and still zero issues.

Cons: nada

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Blazing Fast
Quiet
Durable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Into my fourth year with this drive, and for $99 was an awesome purchase. I have only bought WD HDD. Hard to justify buying one of these drives today with SSD $/GB coming down quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth Fast Reliable

Pros: Like the title says, this drive screams. Need something small to run a dual boot system and I must say this drive has no problems at all. Wish I had bought 3.

Cons: Can't think of any. Best drive I've tested.

Other Thoughts: Fast drive for gaming or 8Pro.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Stable Work Station / Graphic Artist / Gaming Note: Rust?

Pros: Perform AS Specs, No Problems in like 4 years of ownership and still as first Day Highly recommended.

Cons: By Some Factor I suppose Caribbean Humidity some Minor Parts get a little rusted. but a bit. I think Due I work with a open Case to ventilate it.

Other Thoughts: I'm Architect, / Cad Operator / 3D Modeler and Render's Enthusiast ..Hard Drive Perform Amazingly / Gaming and media file managing without problems 4 years only 2 windows format just for maintenance and clean installation of new programs.

5 out of 5 eggsPhenomenal drive!

Pros: Great performance, fast read/write speeds. Withstands the beatings I give to it.

Cons: It's not as fast as SSD, but what is?

Other Thoughts: For a fast traditional drive on a budget, you can't beat the Raptors!

1 out of 5 eggstrash

Pros: 10k rpm

Cons: 100% miss rate on this piece of trash. WD has given me at least 3 bad hard drives for the 2 rigs that I have built, but none have failed as badly as this one. Marketed as a high speed HD and it was worse than 5.6k rpm drives.
