1 out of 5 eggstrash

Pros: 10k rpm

Cons: 100% miss rate on this piece of trash. WD has given me at least 3 bad hard drives for the 2 rigs that I have built, but none have failed as badly as this one. Marketed as a high speed HD and it was worse than 5.6k rpm drives.

3 out of 5 eggsWish I had got some other

Pros: 30% more IOPS then WD Calviar Black.

Cons: Expensive, Low cache,Low space. Did not outlive my WD Calviar Black's.

Other Thoughts: Not as fast (Bandwith and IOPS) as I hoped it would be, It was a little better then a regular 7200 rpm drive, but not enough to warrent the 200$ price.
Replaced with SSD due to this drive Not working for 30 second periods every hour, I think this drives death is near.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: While it worked it was fast-ish.

Cons: I've owned it for just over a year (bought 4-8-2011) and as of yesterday (5-21-2011) it has stopped working.

Other Thoughts: This is my third HDD in 3 years that has died, the other two were not the same brand. Bottom line? I'm so sick of HDDs. I'll be buying a SSD this time around.
