This hard drive incorporates WD’s GreenPower technology, which yields lower operating temperatures and low acoustics, best for ultra-quiet PCs and external drives use. Pros: Quiet, runs cool and works perfectly in my MX-1 enclosure.

Cons: None. This is not a performance drive. Its a GREEN drive so there is no point in me complaining about performance when I know what I bought and how its supposed to perform.

Other Thoughts: I wish people would stop knocking off eggs for price. This is here to rate the product not its price. We can see the price already! What I want to know when I read a review is how dependable it is and any issues someone ran into. Also stop rating a product you don't own! We have reviews of ppl saying they don't trust a drive this size? The drive is great for someone who needs A lot of storage in a single drive. If you don't like the price then don't buy it. If you don't buy it... don't rate it!

Great drive for an HTPC

Pros: Great drive for low-power PC's. I have a small form-factor HP HTPC with a 180-watt power supply, and this drive runs perfectly on low power. It's also very quiet, which is important for an HTPC.

Cons: None I can see.

Other Thoughts: This drive replaced a WD Green Power 1 TB that was filling up, and provides huge capacity with low power and quiet operation.

Pros: Quiet, intermediately recognized, Transfer speeds are as expected for a green drive, 32MB cache, reliable (I have had the drive so far for more than 1 year and have had no problems at all)

Great Storage Drive!

Pros: This "Green" hard drive from Western Digital seems to do exactly what is built to do - hold data for bulk storage. As other posters have pointed out, this is NOT a performance drive. If you want performance buy a Caviar Black hard drive. I have twelve (12) of these drives in my custom built Windows Home Server (WHS) unit, and they all hum along just fine.

Cons: None, they do the job.

Other Thoughts: The significantly lower energy costs of operation are an added bonus, and they all boot up just fine on a cold start of the WHS.
