Pros: Low cost, requires only 1 USB 2.0 connection, small design, works on both Windows and Mac. Came pre-installed with WD backup utilities and unfortunately will not work on MAC - Time Machine is you best bet.

Cons: Could use a longer USB cable.

Other Thoughts: A hard drive died after 4 months of very limited use is not acceptable. I only used it to back up my files every few weeks.

Pros: -Small footprint on desk and light for carrying in laptop bag
-USB cord carries data *and* power.
-500 GB is quite spacious for home use.

Cons: -Drive is slow to spin up.
-Drive has a mediocre price/GB rate.
-Sequential write speeds leave room for improvement.

Other Thoughts: -Overall, the disk performs for the task for which I bought it: to back up the data on my parents' computers. The easy to use nature really helps in encouraging them to back up regularly.
-I would recommend this drive to anyone with similar, mid-grade performance goals in mind.

Pros: very fast, was able to switch from a raid 0 to no raid without any notice in performance

Pros: This thing is incredibly small, but holds alot of info, to be more precise of the size its about the size of a game case but smaller, and has a neat little light to let you know if its on or not, and as it says plug and play works great.

Cons: The cable that came with it is really short about 18 in. from tip to tip, its advertised as 500gb but actually it has 465 the rest of the 35gb is for the plug and play software, but not enough to loose the egg.

Other Thoughts: Love the WD brand have always loved your products and your customer service is fantastic.

Pros: high capacity, western digital quality, not expensive.

Cons: Gave "write error" messages several times when copying over large data files. The USB appeared to disconnect and then reconnect. In the future, I will stick to buying bare WD drives and pick up a quality enclosure. I have several WD drives and this is the first that was unreliable.

Pros: Nice small case, great price, worked great.....until (read the cons)

Cons: Purchased 3 of these and 2 of the 3 have already died and are just out of warranty so Western Digital won't do anything about it. So I've lost all my data I backed up or stored on them and I am out of pocket for dead drives. I am backing up everything on my 3rd one as I am sure it's on the way out like the other 2. I'll never buy WD again after this!

Pros: It works. Radically smaller than the EBook it replaced.

Other Thoughts: The would be a good choice for a portable hard drive.
