1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: None. Buy another brand if you can.

Cons: 50% failure rate out of the box. If you have to have this drive buy a couple extra and return them if you get enough to work.
No problem returning items to newegg except the time and labor lost and the shipping costs that are lost. Buy local if you can.

Other Thoughts: Buy local if you can and save return shipping costs.

Pros: works great no problems

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I still buy WD drives, seem to be the most reliable in the 30 years I've been working with computers.

5 out of 5 eggsDependable

Pros: I used this drive in an old P4 machine and now in a new build. I can't throw it away or shelve it. It has been through more virus infections and re-formats than I can count on one hand and it still works quietly and properly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Now if only I could get this out of these 1TB platter drives.

4 out of 5 eggsGood IDE drive for that older desktop

Pros: IDE, so it's highly compatible with those older desktop's that lack SATA. Good for those folks who don't want to get rid of those older P4 desktops.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsIn it for the long haul

Pros: I've owned this HDD since 2005 (mfg date). It has been through three virus infections and countless re-formats and OS installs - okay I counted at least 14 I have notes from. It still runs strong and silently. It has been my system drive for that entire time. It has no bad sectors. What else can I say?

Cons: none from me

Other Thoughts: I'm upgrading my entire system now and would still be using it if not for the fact that it's IDE. Will definitely get another one (SATA) for my next data drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little drive

Pros: Wanted the smallest drive possible for a machine for a project at work. 80 GB was the smallest I could find w/o hitting SSDs.

I didn't realize this was IDE. Had to hunt down a cable. Otherwise it's perfect for what I need. Windows had no problem nesting it's fatness in there.

Cons: IDE - lol Old interface. Idc, works.

5 out of 5 eggsSaved the RAID

Pros: It's a WD drive. Smaller sizes still available.

Cons: None. Been using WD for years.

Other Thoughts: Used to restore a RAID 1 mirrored array in our older server. Managed to get the array rebuilt with this new drive and all is running a-ok now. It replaced a drive that had probably 5-6 years of 24/7 on-time on it.
