5 out of 5 eggs2013 and it's still going strong!

Pros: It's years later, I've had no issues and love these in my systems. I use blue's in all my builds! Had one failure of a different model blue which was replaced and put back into the raid1 array. All is good! Good product, good support, and good quality!

Cons: The idiot who doesn't use the system to get warranty and complains about the product, or the idiot who takes eggs off for poor shipping by Newegg when it wasn't the products fault.

5 out of 5 eggsup 16,176 hours so far

Pros: Purchased this drive back in June 2010. So far it has been running without any issues. Fast enough for "every day" use. Mine runs at about 35c and has been powered on 1178 times so far. Over 16,000 hours so far.

Cons: None at this point.

Other Thoughts: I also run two other seagate drives (been running much longer) and those are also running without any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat reliable and inexpensive drive

Pros: Fast enough for most uses, quiet, inexpensive. Reliable, has been running almost continuously in my windows home server computer for over 2 years with no problems.

Cons: Slightly slower than WDC Black drives but not enough to notice for most uses. Shorter warranty. Doesn't come in a 2TB version.

Other Thoughts: I got this drive a few years ago as the primary storage in my windows home server computer, and it has been perfect. I know it is a tiny bit slower than the WDC Black drives, doesn't have the same warranty, and supposedly isn't rated for continuous operations, but this drive has been more than fast enough for its purpose, it is quiet, and after more than 2 years of continuous operation it still is running very reliably.

Pros: Cheap
Fast

Cons: Died after around 2 years of use while my black WD drive has been going strong for over 4 years now.

Other Thoughts: I only used it as a storage drive.

3 out of 5 eggsworked great for about 3 months

Pros: when I first installed it, it worked great

Cons: after about 3 months I started getting blue screen and disk read errors upon booting. I'm still using this drive after 1 year (it hasn't died yet), but it has definitely been showing more and more signs.

5 out of 5 eggsServes me well!

Pros: This is like a knight, who is also a cheerleader, and a nympho. It works great and hasn't failed in awhile, was extremely price effective.

Cons: There are none SO far! So lets hope it keeps kicking.

5 out of 5 eggslike alot

Pros: owned this drive for 2 yrs. and no problems - yet. got a caviar black last year and everything is still A.O.K.. everyone has their fav manufacturer, i like west dig.

Cons: none - 2 years and still going. and rarely is my computer off, like 24 hrs a year.

Other Thoughts: whatever you buy, go with a drive with a longer manufacturer warranty. might cost a little more and it won't protect your data if it fails, but there is a reason why budget line HDDs have a shorter warranty. BUDGET

Pros: Speed, Performance, durability. In use 24x7 on Security DVR, no problems.

Cons: none, except for silly newegg requiring this field to be filled in prio to submition.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked for me.

Pros: This drive is fine as any other standard 1TB SATA 3GB drive (so long as yours comes without defects, in which case just RMA right away)

Has emphasis on performance over power savings. The power savings aren't so crucial for a hard-drive like this (unless you're running a server rack with a few dozen of those or something similar), it just helps heat up the house a bit in the winter.

Performance so far is stellar, running pretty stable as a RAID 1 mirror for my primary. Although it ended up in a tight non-standard location within my case, so far all diagnostics (error rates and such) for this drive place it as very safe.

Cons: Not the cheapest of them, otherwise - so far so good. Will let you know when it dies.
