5 out of 5 eggsNew HD for old Laptop

Pros: Bought to replace a dying HD in my Dell Laptop. Works like a charm

Cons: None I can think of it just works

1 out of 5 eggsDead

Pros: none?

Cons: I owned this drive for about 2 years. Bought it new, to upgrade a net book. It lasted about 100 hours total, before the thing completely died (and out of warranty). A hundred hours...
And you wonder why HD manufactures started limiting their warranties to 1 year (used to be 3 and 5 year back in the day). What's next, 90 days? Wouldn't surprise me.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Plugged it in and it works - continues to work over a year later. Not much else you could ask for. Bought it to replace a failed hard drive in a Dell Laptop -

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Thumbs up for this drive

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: WD disks are great.

Cons: I looked up WD 1 TB sata 2.5 inch disks on the New Egg web site and did not realize the great price I found was for 250 GB and not 1 TB disks. I tried to cancel the order but the New Egg web site would not allow it (within 5 minutes of order being placed). I was going to do an unopened RMA but I need the storage thus I have to deal whth much smaller disks. I am unhappy that when you look up a specific item you get a lot more an sometimes you can get fooled like I did. I will never purchase storage from New Egg again although I will continue to buy some things from them.

Other Thoughts: New Egg should modify the search engine to allow for exact match and these types of things could be prevented. This does not exiat today as far as I can see.

Pros: Working like it should

Cons: I cannot think of any cons.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a hard drive that went bad in a laptop. It has been 2.5 months and it's still working. So far I am impressed

2 out of 5 eggsDid not last long

Pros: Good while it lasted. Performance was acceptable

Cons: Under very light usage, always in a case, never dropped, it died in 11 months.

Other Thoughts: I want a bigger drive anyway. Next time, I'll get one with a longer warranty, hopefully that will indicate higher quality.

5 out of 5 eggsWD Scorpio Blue 250GB

Pros: As with any WD drive you're basically shopping on auto pilot. There's never a thing to worry about in regards to longevity, duribility or overall performance.

Cons: Absolutely none :)

Other Thoughts: Long time buyer of WD drives from PATA to SATA and beyond, love the company for their craftmenship.

3 out of 5 eggsOn the up side, half of them still work.

Pros: Quiet, quick, reasonably priced.

Cons: Not very durable.

Other Thoughts: I go through about 10 of these a week. I maintain about 700 student computers and we use these hard drives. When the original hard drives from the machines break, they get replaced with these guys, and about half of the computers that have these hard drives now come back again for another replacement, but on the same note, the other half are still going strong. They're not bad drives, they just don't seem to hold up well in computers that are on the move all day.
