5 out of 5 eggsExtended the life of an old laptop

Pros: Shipped quick
Direct replacement for Dell Laptop
Easy install

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Newegg did a great job shipping this drive. Pretty easy and straightforward replacement for an old Dell laptop. Extended the life of this machine for a mere 50 bucks. Now my kid can keep his beater computer going.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate - Head-Parking Issue

Pros: Still love the device as a product. See what I put in my original review.

Cons: Taking 2 points off my rating because WD's head parking policy has cause my device to start crashing. Had to install a program to disable the APM feature in order to get it to start working properly again. ACER probably had this feature disabled on my original harddrive from factory, which would explain why I just now started experiencing it.

5 out of 5 eggsWestern Digital Crushes Again

Pros: The last one I had was given to me damaged by my laptop manufacturer and it managed to last 2 years with no problems. Clean, undamaged, crisp and well packaged, this thing was a joy to unwrap and install. I know it will last at least 5 years baring any freak accidents or issues. Plenty of storage for the price, too. Got the Iron Egg protection plan just in case and that was extremely cheap on this device. Tons of value for the money.

Cons: None; Some might complain about the price point but when it comes to harddisks, you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Hope this type of drive stays in production for a few more years so I can afford to buy a backup. As nice as solid state is, it's got a lot of cooling and weight issues before it can be a mainstream laptop technology. Would be nice if the price continued to fall for this same interface over the next few years instead of moving on to new ones.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget HDD.

Pros: Stores data.

Doesn't randomly burst into flames or summon demons that devour small children/pets.

Cons: Not exactly speedy, but blue drives aren't. That's how it goes.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this drive to replace a failing HDD in an older ACER laptop, certainly can't complain, working as advertised.

Note: A green drive would have been better for a laptop, yes, however the machine in question is always plugged in, it's battery has probably been dead for years tbh.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent upgrade!

Pros: Was able to upgrade my 120gb HDD to this 320gb HDD using the vast knowledge online. I was able to transfer the data from my smaller hard drive to this larger hard drive using a data transfer cable. I now have much more room to store DLC and also the Game on Demand games which I have purchased. I recommend this drive.

Cons: None yet. Not looking forward to a crash which is always possible. Almost 5 months since purchase and the HDD is going strong.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for My Xbox 360 Slim

Pros: After following some setup instructions I found on the internet, it was simple to plug in this harddrive to my 360 slim hard drive enclosure and pop it in the machine. It immediately recognized and formatted the drive. I have had no problems with it yet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I admit I don't use my xbox all that extensively these days, so this harddrive doesn't really get much heavy use.
