Cons: Dead on Arrivale, plugged it into the computer and nothing but clicking. Hopefully I can get a refund or replacement

1 out of 5 eggsJoke

Pros: Free Shipping

Cons: Shipping is free until you have to return the drive. What a waste of time and effort. WD Lifeguard Diagnostic Utility confirmed "many" bad sectors. No ZERO eggs.

Other Thoughts: I tried, with Lifeguard, to recertify a HD which windows would not format. It would pass tests, fail to format, and then fail the same tests. I zeroed the disk twice, +3 hours a pop, and windows said not initialized. Windows was right. Who recertifies these things? $10 to return a $30 drive, might just be too much trouble.

1 out of 5 eggsGambling

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Junk. Ordered two of these for an economy SATA machine I was putting together for the kids. Neither one of them works. I've been using WD for years and only had two failures. This is the first time I've ever had a drive fail out of the box. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Other Thoughts: I've had good success with Reconditioned parts from Newegg up to now. This will be the last "recertified" drive I buy. I've learned my lesson.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks good when it works.

Pros: Fast, great price! 250GB isn't bad at all for a regular PC.

Cons: I ordered 3 of these, 2 for me and 1 for a friend. 2 of them work and the other was a DOA(Click of death).

You have been warned, but take heart in that Neweggs return policy is very good.
