Pros: None.

Cons: We purchased 2 of these drives, 1 was completely DOA.

Other Thoughts: RMA process for a replacement drive took a week.

Pros: Good capacity, performance, and price.

Cons: None for me so far.

Other Thoughts: This is the second set of these drive I have purchased for another machine in over two years from my first purchase. Pleased with the products performance.

Pros: The speed and reliability of WD's Black series drives are top-notch.

The 5 year warranty is the reason to buy this drive in my opinion. The performance is very good but it's not worth the price premium over stuff like their Blue series. However, that 5 year warranty is.

I've owned many different WD Black drives over the years. Never had one die on me.

Cons: As with all high performance drives, it's a bit on the loud side. Nothing too bad though.

Price is a little steep - you pay extra for that warranty.

Other Thoughts: I won't buy a HDD without a 5 year warranty anymore. Too many bad experiences with drives that only came with a 2 or 3 year warranty. Better to pay a small premium now for the warranty than to need a whole new drive in 3 years.

I'm using this drive as the main storage for a simple office work rig that I just built.

Pros: Does what it should.
I have had this drive for about one month and it works just fine.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I like coffee!!!

Pros: About as fast as you will find for a 7200RPM drive. Great for entry-level servers and NAS.

Never had a failure, and I've used many over the last ~2yrs. These drives have a 5yr warranty and are designed for 24x7 server use, so you can assume they are built to very high standards.

Cons: Price. Wish they were cheaper, but I guess you can say 'you get what you pay for' - buy cheap, get cheap...

Other Thoughts: Not sure what the reviewer below is complaining about. I've never had to install a driver for a hard drive....unless he's talking about controller drivers- but that has nothing to do with the hard drive...hmm...tech level '4', uh-huh...

Pros: none doesnt work

Cons: wont recognize with new computer set up, cant install drivers independently to make it found either.

Other Thoughts: holding up $1000 computer set up, all else works. product didnt even come in a box only bubble wrap.

Other Thoughts: I've used this drive for many servers/RAID systems/NAS units, and just put one in a custom gaming rig. Very high quality drive that has a great, 5 year warranty. I've replaced them before and WD's RMA process is easy, not too long to get a drive back.

Pros: Well packaged, double boxed and well protected with packing material. Newegg did well.
This drive has worked well as a stand alone device in a Linux (CentOS) workstation for 1 year and has NOT made any "noises" !
S.M.A.R.T. reports to Linux properly and has always shown the drive as healthy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Will purchase another so as to keep a hot clone using Clonezilla software.
The host controller is a SAS type which is compatible with SATA devices.

For information, dual intel E5450 CPU's with 12 meg level 2 cache and 16 gig DDR2 ECC system memory.

Pros: Awesome HDD, very reliable, fast and quite

Cons: Expensive

Other Thoughts: Used this exact model in the last 5 builds, including servers with RAID. HDDs work flawlessly, not a single problem yet.

Pros: Been stable for over a year. Runs quiet. Good buy.

Cons: None so far. I will mention pricing it is slightly high, but not high enough for me to drop an egg.

Other Thoughts: Thinking of migrating to SSD and having this as the secondary, and it has served me well so far.
