4 out of 5 eggsGood Refurbished Harddrive

Pros: I bought this harddrive when the floods in Thailand caused HDD prices to skyrocket. At the time this was the cheapest 1TB HDD with good specs.

Cons: Well this is faster than my previous harddive but it doesn't live up to it's SATA3 6.0GB/s rating.

Other Thoughts: Now I know this was not a new HDD and it was refurbished so I'm sure if this was new I would not have these problems. Otherwise it's a good harddrive and would be great new.

2 out of 5 eggsDead

Pros: When it worked it was great.

Cons: After 2 years in RAID1 both drives are dead!!!
No warranty because they were refurbished. I guess its my fault for not noticing that they were refurbished.
Now i got 2 paperweights.

1 out of 5 eggsNO DEAL

Pros: Good solid drive

Cons: At this price you have to be stupid to buy it.

Other Thoughts: for twenty dollars more you buy the new one that comes with a five year warranty. So you only save twenty bucks and only 90 day warranty so if it quits on day 91 you LOSE! Like I said you have to ge stupid not to buy the new one. If yoo save 40 or 50 bucks then maybe its worth the risk.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems

Pros: Super fast Harddrive
64mb cache
1tb
6bg/s
124$! ( at least is was when I got it

Cons: loud

Other Thoughts: This has got to be the best harddrive I have ever had. I have had no problems with it so far, the only thing I dont like is that it is really loud, but hey! ya win some and loose some.

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues so far

Pros: -Cheap
-Works as well as brand new hard drives I've had in the past
-Cheap

Cons: -not an SSD
-Would have bought a brand new hard drive with more space if they weren't so overpriced at the moment.

Bottom line if you can afford a better hard drive I would get one, if not this is a decent alternative.

Other Thoughts: Hard drive is working just fine, however even though its re certified its still used and you don't know for sure what your getting. That's probably why others are getting issues.

So this could either be the best decision of your life or the worst, time to spin the chamber Boris.

4 out of 5 eggsBlack is the new Black

Pros: -SATA 6.0
-Price
-Performance

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not a huger performance increase over my SATA 3.0 750 Caviar Blue. Still, the sustained transfer rate is a bit higher, and the cache increase is nice as well.

1 out of 5 eggsCorrupted disk

Pros: cheap price, good specs.

Cons: Disk corrupted and would accept windows or would lose all information when you tried to boot up due to damaged sectors.

Other Thoughts: Should have known not to buy recertified.

2 out of 5 eggsBuy new or roll the dice

Pros: Looked like a good deal at the price I got it at the time, particularly with all the harddrive price increases in the industry. Recognized successfully on first boot of new machine.

Cons: Failed to install Win7 Home Premium on first attempt. Failed on second attempt and upon reboot failed S.M.A.R.T. test and was unusable.

Other Thoughts: Newegg RMA has been quick and easy so far, even with paying for shipping I think it is going to be worth it going through them. Only reason for 2 eggs instead of 1. Hopefully I'll still end up with a usable product, if at an increased price.
