3 out of 5 eggsNot what I ordered..

Pros: It is a nice drive but, DC picked/shipped the wrong product. This is actually a sata3 6.0gb 32mb cache drive.

Cons: Not what I ordered. DC has problem with inventory/order picking data...

Other Thoughts: the last 2 drive orders were the wrong product. Nice drive but, I ordered sata2 3.0gb drive.. I use this one as a backup and replaced it with an another supplier order.

3 out of 5 eggsBe Aware: Newegg Sends replacement part WD3200AAKX

Pros: Nothing wrong with this HDD...

Cons: .. other than newegg sends out a WD3200AAKX in place of it. This is the same drive essencially except it is SATA 6.0Gb/s instead of 3.0Gb/s. You can use a jumper to set it to 3.0Gb/s, but if you have an older machine that needs 1.5Gb/s, this can be an issue.

4 out of 5 eggsSix Months Still Going Strong

Pros: Literally silent when running. Was on a budget and didn't want to spend and arm and a leg for an excessively pricey SSD. A lot of other reviews have said this particular model has been DoA or die very fast, but it's been a half a year and mine is showing absolutely no signs of age or slowing down. Not one error has occurred with it either. It started up right out of the box (which was an OEM drive covered in bubble wrap)

Cons: Small HD space gets used up very fast when installing video games. Slower to start up than an SSD. But otherwise not the HDD's fault, you get what you paid for exactly.

Other Thoughts: Will definitely purchase from WD again in the future. Wish I had been able to afford a higher priced HDD with more memory. This one's memory has almost been completely eaten up by video game installs.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Its a hard disk drive, that is stable with a 16MB cache.

Cons: None, I do wish I bought a raptor.

Other Thoughts: Only posts a 5.9 on WEI!

1 out of 5 eggsTOTALLY Dissatisfied

Pros: Quiet & Fast.

Cons: I ordered two new drives, both arrived and operated with no errors. Within a few days, one drive had increasingly bad sectors, more and more each day. I managed to backup all my data and replace the drive with the second one. Before I could get an RMA back, the second drive started to fail in exactly the same manner! I limped along and finally got the RMA back and it was flawless, Within a few days, it started the SAME thing! I am returning both drives to Western Digital as I type this! 3 out of 3 failures!! This model should be discontinued!

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this one!!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Drive for my Needs

Pros: Easy to install
Quiet
Fast

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I've recently been trying to resurrect an old XP system I had. It was an old P4 3.4 GHz Northwood machine (mobo only had AGP). I wanted a new hard drive and, so far, this one has fit the bill in terms of my needs. Definitely faster and quieter than the 8-year old 120 GB Seagate it replaced.

New machine has the following components (all purchased from Newegg):
--Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz
--GIGABYTE GA-H61MA-D3V LGA 1155 Intel H61 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
--G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
--SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 500W Modular 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply

Other thoughts:
Still using the Cooler Master WaveMaster I purchased from Newegg back in 2004. I'm going to purchase a new or used Radeon HD 4870 for this machine's video card.

1 out of 5 eggsUnits DOA

Pros: None on this unit. Unfortunately mine arrived DOA.

Cons: As I said, arrived DOA.

Other Thoughts: I seem to be the first reviewer of this drive with a DOA unit. Hopefully it's just a fluke. Sending mine back for a refund and purchasing another HD from a local store.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet with one Problem

Pros: I've worked with Western Digital HDDs before and never ran into much of a problem. The one I ordered worked fine and after getting the rest of the machine in line with it worked wonders. The drive was quiet, quick, and had enough storage for my OS, Games, and what not. All was wonderful till the event log.

Cons: It was probably my fault but there are bad segments on the hard disk. I was looking at Event Viewer and there those errors were. Running chkdsk shows swaths of segments being unreadable. Even with these it ran pretty well until some other error ran the machine into the ground. It may just be a fluke, oh well.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend purchasing this hard disk as my incident is likely a fluke. If it gets too bad I will send it back knowing that the next one I get will likely work. So, go ahead and buy!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Hard Drive!

Pros: Western Digital is always the best choice when it comes to hard drives. They have been supplying the world with top of the line drives for a good price. I've never had a WDC fail me, ever.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba and Seagate are Junk. You should ONLY buy WDC. Solid drive.
