4 out of 5 eggsGreat Hard Drive

Pros: I bought this hard drive to replace my media drive that broke recently. So far I really have no complaints. It is very light, very portable. And incredibly reliable. The USB 3.0 is an excellent feature that really boosts speed when reading/writing large amounts of data(which is helpful for a portable media drive)

Cons: My friend bought the exact same drive and when we plugged both drives into the same computer they would only read one drive at a time. It wasn't a problem with the computer we tried different ports and 3 different computers. The software that came with the drives also was clunky and not very intuitive. I also had several errors when trying to install the software, and it took 3 seperate tries to get it working.

Other Thoughts: Lots of storage, sleek and portable, USB 3.0, all make this a grat product. But the software that comes with it and the problems when multiple drives are plugged in detract from the drive only slightly

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, cool, fast.

Pros: - Very fast USB 3.0 speeds. Respectable USB 2.0 speeds.
- Extremely quiet.
- Stays cool even when transferring hundreds of gigabytes over the course of many hours.

Cons: - None.

Other Thoughts: - The included software has many neat features such as password locking the drive. You should definitely check out what the included software has to offer, it shouldn't be overlooked.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: Fast! (faster than my internal hard drive)
Tons of storage
smaller form factor means you don't need an AC adapter

Cons: Can't make me a sandwich

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace my Seagate Expansion 1TB external which recently died on me after only a few months of use, and that thing was a monstrosity, huge drive, cheap plastic casing, had to have 2 cords to run it. This WD Passport is a totally different story, small, tough, and powered via USB.
It's really fast too, even faster than the internal hard drive of my HP G60 laptop. When I play music off my internal, I get all sorts of skips and lags, played off the external, not a single blip.
I haven't had it for very long so I can't testify to its durability or longevity, but it seems to be a very solid construction, and I can't see any way of breaking it unless I really wanted to.

5 out of 5 eggsI Love it!!!!

Pros: A great size to take with you and your laptop.

Sturdy case - I wouldn't be afraid to put it in my back pocket. I think it's some kind of tough plastic, but it feels substantial. If I squeeze it hard between my fingers and thumb, it flexes a tiny bit, but I can't feel it touching the guts inside.

Runs off ONE USB port power. The drivers for it are on the drive and the hardware wizard figures it out and fixes her right up, even on WinXP SP3.

Run cool even during long transfers. Not even warm.

Cons: I don't have a USB 3 port on my computer, but it works fine with USB 2. Does that count as a con? I can't say how it works on USB 3, but it seems pretty fast without having run any benchmarks.

Other Thoughts: I backed up a big My Documents folder with 10+ gigs on it, and it seemed faster than another external Hitachi I have with a 250M capacity, just by subjective reckoning.

Back up your backups.

Pros: I am a system admin, I bought this for work to transfer large files back and forth. I haven't ran into any issues. Its pretty small and can fit in my back pocket, kinda like an extra wallet. Transfer speeds are pretty quick.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNice Drive

Pros: Fast little drive, even on USB 2.0. Does not have power issues on older machines, as some USB drives will.

Cons: Wish it were cheaper.
