Pros: good price for it's size at the time

Cons: starts failing after a year or so, it gives me a blue screen and restarts my computer

Pros: High capacity
Quiet

Cons: This thing is incredibly slow for accessing data. I put a 5400rpm back in to speed my system back up... Yeah, it's that slow

Other Thoughts: Works fine if it's being used to hold pics or vids... Just don't install anything on it...

Pros: none

Cons: What everyone else has said on here. Failed in a matter of months, used strictly for data storage, video editing files.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time on this. Only bought it because of a code I had to knock a large % off. thing was a waste.

Pros: Cheap for a reason...

Cons: Drive Failure - I built my new computer around 06/21/13 and it is now 08/14/13 and the drive is beginning to fail. I ran the WD Life Guard diagnostic program and there are "too many bad sectors" on the drive that the diagnostic program just stops running!!! It wont even let me repair the sectors.

This is the very first drive I have had from WD that has failed and I have been building with WD drives since 1995 ish. It seems that there are a lot of other people on the newegg forum with the same problem. I guess they really dont build them like they used to.

Other Thoughts: Might have to go with another manufacturer and build a raid 1 to protect my data from future drive failures.

Pros: HIGH CAPACITY

Cons: ITS STARTING TO TAKE A DUMP. I ONLY USED IT FOR MEDIA AND THATS IT. SO I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY ITS GOING OUT ON ME ALREADY. i BOUGHT IT LIKE 6 MONTHS A GO AND I ALREADY NEED A NEW ONE. POOR ENGINEERING

Pros: Held Data, Worked somewhere upon the way

Cons: Died in about 6 months

Other Thoughts: I even turned off head parking when I received the drive, this drive was built to inferior standards, it isn't whether it is going to fail....it's when Shame on you WDC, you should offer that every one that fails gets a 3TB model!

Pros: fast and quiet...great until it failed

Cons: bought the extended warranty with this drive thinking that newegg would take care of any problems. Turned out to not be the case! it seems that newegg does not provide the warranty service (a 3rd party company called "Service Net")....wish they had been upfront about that before they got my money!

Pros: Cheap, large cap.

Cons: Fails to load windows regularly; but no problem with Windows itself (did some diagnostics, it seems to not be loading files from the hard drive at startup properly)

Other Thoughts: If you get a good one, it'll be fine, but back up files liberally

Pros: Looks like a drive
Feels like a drive

Cons: Incredibly high failure rate
Low Quality
I/O Errors
50% drive failure after four months

Other Thoughts: Bought six drives:
1 RMA within a month of usage
2 more RMA's three months later.

Spend the money and buy a better drive, these aren't worth your time or energy. Having to move data around with each failure is a pain and waste of my time.

As with any drive: keep backups. Lots of backups.
