2 out of 5 eggsDarn

Pros: The price was right at the time. Would have been a deal if it hadn't acted up.

Cons: Installed in a USB drive for transfers and temp files. Very few hours on the drive and now it locks up and stalls. Causes to computer to freeze for several minutes (4 to 8 minutes) before it works again for a short while. Keeps the computer from booting if turned on and connected to the computer.

Other Thoughts: Waste of money this time around.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsNo good, no good, no good

Pros: If the drive's actually worked I might have some

Cons: Dead on Arrivial - Newegg replaced twice and both DOA - not done with process, hope Newegg can send one that actually works.

Manufacturer Response:

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the WD Blue, as this is not the typical experience with the product. It is unfortunate that you experienced multiple DOA drives, as our drives are all rigorously tested to ensure they are in good working condition before leaving our warehouse. 3 out of 5 eggsCheap, but became corrupted after 2 months of use

Pros: I bought this during the laborday promotion for 69.99, a good deal for a 1TB drive.

Cons: After almost 2months of use, the disk drive became corrupted and was no longer accessible and I was forced to format it to bring it back to life. I tried to recover the files with Piriform's Recuva app, but it said the local disk drive did not exist and I just decided as a final step make sure the disk was not actually truly dead, I decided to format it, and it worked again. So sad.

Other Thoughts: I decided to put this drive in a HDD caddy replacing the optical disc reader when I upgraded to an SSD to boot windows 8. This disk primarily served as data storage and I'm not sure if placing this drive in the caddy contributed to the its failure and corruption.

Manufacturer Response:

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the WD Scorpio Blue, as this is not the typical experience with the product. It is very unfortunate that this drive caused reason for concern in such a short time after you purchased the product. Nevertheless, we would like to assure you that Western Digital does rigorously test and verify all of our drives, prior to shipping, with burn-in and diagnostic tests.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Free shipping and came with a free docking station.

Cons: Too tall

Other Thoughts: Came with the Rosewill RX-DU101 docking station for free and I am currently using it as an external backup drive until I can find something to put it into.

2 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Large size for such a small format.

Cons: Drive came DOA. The docking station worked though. At least Newegg was very fast to RMA it and ship out a replacement. They even gave me free return shipping through UPS.

5 out of 5 eggs1TB for 70 bucks

Pros: This is a great deal but please know it is 12.5 mm tall so it is really alot taller than most drives. I knew this going in but it hardly fit in any of my 15 enclosures, had to stuff in one but can't really take any eggs off for it because I knew.

Cons: None drive works checked came fine no bad sectors no much more I could ask for.

3 out of 5 eggsToo Tall for X200 Tablet

Pros: 1 TeraByte for $70.00, great deal

Cons: Too Tall for X200 Tablet, this was supposed to be a replacement for a 750Gb WD Scorpio Black, placed in HD caddy, when to replace the drive, would not fit, too tall. @ 12.5mm, it will not fit.

Other Thoughts: Not sure what I am gonna do with this drive.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for this inconvenience. The 1TB WD Scorpio Blue WD10TPVT model is 12.5 mm high and would not fit in your external drive bay. Western Digital has released the WD10JPVT, which is 9.5 mm high and has the proper dimensions to be connected inside your drive bay.

4 out of 5 eggsDrive OK overall

Pros: A lot of space for a 2.5" hard disk. Even if it is refurbished, works OK. Price reasonable.

Cons: Only 6 months of warranty if you check with Western Digital.
Drive will not fit in most of 2.5" enclosures due to its thickness.
