2 out of 5 eggstoss a coin 50/50 with a blank SMART registry

Pros: WD has reset the odometer on these drives: SMART header report 0 hours of usage and all registry are wiped from previous data.
Resetting the SMART registry is not a pro, because one cannot tell much about the history, registry, and log failure of the drives.

Cons: 2 out of the 6 were clicking.

Other Thoughts: This is Normal Format drive, and this is the only reason why I order these. Unlike Western Digital's AF (Advanced Format) that reports Normal Format to trick the OS. A bad strategy to propagate AF drives that the OS won't treat their format properly.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks so far :D

Pros: Works.
Checks as brand new drive to SMART readings.
Is pretty quick, for a spinner...

Cons: Time will tell...

Other Thoughts: The price is RIGHT, but will it LAST?

1 out of 5 eggsFormat? ... Nada!

Pros: LOL. Nice paint job.

Cons: Cannot format out of the box. What a waste of time & money. I want my money back. No quality control with this so called "refurbished" trash. UPS makes all the money - shipping this item all over the county.

Other Thoughts: Who said this item was refurbished? I want the name & address of the company that makes this claim.

5 out of 5 eggsBlew my mind

Pros: I have these setup in a RAID 0 on a MSI A75MA-G55 with 8 GB ram and a AMD A6-3650 APU. I've run 2 different Seagate and 1 Toshiba with this setup, they were slow loud and for lack of a better word clunky. I'd actually had them wake me up in the middle of the night when the AV was running.
When I put these WD drives in and turned on the machine I had to double check that they were connected as the fan noise was louder than the drives. My boot time went from around 3 minutes to about 45 seconds.
The low cost allowed me to put a 2 year next day swap out warranty on them and still spend less than on a non-refurbished drive.

Cons: Really don't have any ... sorry.

Other Thoughts: If I were going to build another computer today I would definatly buy 4 of these and run RAID 10.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works as advertised. Quiet. Faster than IDE drive.

Cons: Was expecting a bigger difference vs. my old IDE drive with an SATA III drive, but my perception is jaded by my SSD, (I'm not a big HDD benchmark guy, so I haven't measured performance).

5 out of 5 eggsSaved the day!

Pros: WORKS! PRICE! SHIPPING! All the usual Newegg things I have came to expect. My son's computer crahsed the day before it arived so it was badly needed. I wasn't sure about the "remanufactured" part of it but price won out and it works great and brought a older machine back to life, very pleased!

Cons: Didn't install itself??.... I don't know of any downside.

Other Thoughts: Great & cheap, I might look closer at remaned products from now on.
