3 out of 5 eggsIt's a Hard drive!!

Pros: Low cost, 250gb, 6gb/s(not sure I believe it) 7200rpm and it works at least so far.

Cons: Quite slow for 7200 rpm 6gb/s drive my older Seagate 3gb/s drive is faster. it's a Refurbished item which I haven't had much luck with so far.

Other Thoughts: Against my better judgement I bought this drive even though it is Refurbished and so far it's ok..I bought a refurbished tablet on here and it died the day after my grandson opened it for xmas..I'm hoping I fair better with this refurb. The tablet was one day past the return date so if your refurb item is showing any signs of failure at all DON'T wait ...SEND IT BACK ASAP!!!

3 out of 5 eggsDon't expect it to last forever.

Pros: It's a refurbished hard drive... what do you expect? It did its job for a reasonable amount of time(for a refurbished drive).

Cons: Don't expect it to last forever. Mine has been great for a year and a half, but I think it has finally died.

Other Thoughts: I usually have good luck with western digital, but not a ton with this drive. I still have some WD IDE drives that are over 10 years and they work fine. This is a great temporary drive but for a main driver i recommend one of their new drives!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: I needed something cheap for a Linux server with a USB printer. I installed it in a desktop Micro ATX PC case using 4 screws for the chassis. You can't beat $20 /w free shipping on a 250 GB SATA 6Gb/s drive.

Cons: I couldn't find anything physically or emotionally wrong with this hard drive.

Other Thoughts: I have bought refurbished hard drives before on NewEgg. I haven't had a problem with a single one. I think most people who give refurbished drives bad reviews possibly mishandle them during installation. Mine came shipped in a box bubble wrapped and sealed in a static-free bag.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Cheap

Cons: DOA, wasted time diagnosing, impossible for WD to have ever plugged it in to "Re-certify". Bad business practice at best, borders on false advertising. Wish I could have got my money back but had to pay shipping to return and now I have a drive I do not trust with my data.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: 7200 rpm, 16 MB of cache, SATA 6 Gbps. Really low sale price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The drive is a refurb and that's stated in the description. I cloned my Win 7 machine's hard drive with Acronis. No problems.

1 out of 5 eggs3 of 3 DOA

Pros: Pricing for some bench spares looked good. RMA'd and expecting replacements at some point.

Cons: Ordered 3. All 3 DOA.

Other Thoughts: All 3 were properly packaged. Came out of static wrap with worn WD stickers, smudges, residue from previously removed stickers, and build up of dirt/other material on 1.

Suspect these were 'incoming' for testing, not outgoing that HAD been tested.

Long time NewEgg customer, 30+ years technical exp..

Not the norm for NewEgg.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: none its terrible

Cons: my son built a computer with this hard drive for me- his mother ,also his mother in law and one for the neighbor. Each of the HD failed quickly. Mother in law and neighbor returned theirs , I did not and it is still sitting in drawer.

Other Thoughts: do not buy a recertified HD.
