4 out of 5 eggsGood hard drive

Pros: Haven't had any problems with it. Quick hard drive with very few errors. Shocked to see it performed almost as well as my 10,000 RPM SATA. Good stuff. Runs at about 32 C, for those of you worried about case temps.

Cons: It doesn't run as fast as my 10,000 RPM drive.

Other Thoughts: You know the deal... Newegg rocks, FedEx is awesome....

4 out of 5 eggsTLER works great Great

Pros: I have had these drives for about 5 monthe now running in a RAID-1 array. I have had other non-TLER drives before I would always get drives dropping off. These drives have not done that once.

Cons: I would have given this item a 5 but they are a little slower than I had inticipated but worth it in the end.

Other Thoughts: I plan on buying 2 more and migrating to RAID-10.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive Great Price

Pros: These drives are great. I bought two of them for a RAID 1 array soon to buy two more for a RAID 5 array. I don't know if it's my card or the drives but they formatted in under a min with a full format. Of course they only show up as 298GB but as any HD buyer knows you never get the full ammount.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As always New Egg is the best.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat hard drives!

Pros: High capacity and fast access. Can't go wrong with Western Digital drives - I use them exclusively.

Cons: Tends to vibrate, but it could be amplified by my case.

Other Thoughts: I have four of these in a RAID/0 setup with a 3ware SATA RAID card. It works without a problem, except the vibration. These drives were designed to tolerate vibration, however, so it shouldn't compromise your data integrity.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: Quiet and fast. High trasnfer speeds (for what i do). Hot swaps easily. Easily formatted by going through the disk manager in windows xp pro.

Cons: widnows diidn't find it when I went to my computer folder. Had to format it through disk management under computer management (found in the adminstrative tools) After formatng it as a basic drive and as a primary partition it was found and worked great. Took about 30 minutes to format.

Other Thoughts: I will be buying another of these drive shortly. I fillied it up faster than I epected I would. RE runs alot cooler than the standard SE (atleast in my system it did)

2 out of 5 eggsFailed

Pros: Fast and has a lot of storage.

Cons: It failed in less tahn one week of owning it. Only 298GB of available space.

Other Thoughts: Western Digital needs to get their act together. This is the third drive to fail on me in two months. Granted I have never had a problem with them until recently. One failed in less than a week, one failed in less than one year, and one failed after one year.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Fast Shipment/Delivery

Cons: I received the HD and installed it and to my surprise it didn't show up in my BIOS and when installing the OS, it didn't pick it up there either. I tried both SATA ports & I even tried my second computer which I just built last week and it didn't pick it up either. I just RMA'd it, hoping the new one will work.

5 out of 5 eggsCorrection...

Pros: Sorry, I recently bought two drives and posted the review of the WD Raptor 10k 74G drive here for the WD Caviar 7200k 320G drive.

This caviar is also an excellent drive. Very quiet.

Cons: None.
