5 out of 5 eggsGood priced hard drive

Comments: i've own 2 of these drive in the past. Works fast and quiet. There may have been rumors about IBM drives failing faster than other drives, but i don't think that is something to worry about. as with any 7200RPM hard drive, just make sure you buy a hard drive cooler with this. It runs at 7200RPM and it gets warm. it will prolong the life of your hard drive and will keep your system more stable.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I actualy didn't buy this at newegg (got a great deal, $75!), but I paid for it in the shipping. No one beats NewEgg at shipping.

This HDD is very quick and quiet compared to my old one. And it's 80GB! I know there are MUCH larger drives out, but 80GB should last almost anyone a very long time.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Great hard drive with a great price. I hear not as quiet as the hard drives with the fluid bearings but fairly quiet. I can only hear it when I put my ear to the front of the case. It is also very quick. I would buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat HDD, some issues

Comments: It installed easily enough, runs *nearly* silent... I run my case open and I am able to hear a little noise, but nothing giving a 4 star rating for. That is because I heard a bit of rattling in the unit itself about two weeks after I received it. It was like the needle was hitting the top of the HDD case. After a while the sound disappated but it caused a boot sector read error and I had to reformat. Physical damage to the drive? I'm not one for opening these things up so only time will tell.
