Pros: Quiet. does not seem to be hot, no compatibility issues.
Cons: Might have risked a faster drive for more speed, but in the end on a laptop, you want reliability and that means cool and that means slower rotational speed.
Other Thoughts: I put the drive into a dead DV6000 with HP's recovery DVD and it rebuilt the drive into one that looked just as if it had been factory partitioned. There was no choice regarding how I might have wanted to partition it. I had tried pre-partitioning it, and it all got wiped.
I thought it was worth mentioning that if you have a DV6000 that is starting to have problems because of the hard drive (and this is about the right time for that to happen) this drive can allow you to repair things. I used knoppix to copy the files I could copy to a third party drive, and then I copied files back as appropriate.

Pros: Upgraded from 40GB in the the PS3. Easy to install and formatted in the PS3. Works perfectly. I notice that games install and load a little quicker than the 40GB hard drive.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I picked this drive because I read a review that stated that it had the lowest power consumption of any current laptop hard drives, lower power = lower heat. Also the only drive that was lower in power consumption was a SSD. The speed was also the same or faster than the WD Blue hdd.

Inexpensive, Functional

Pros: Works. Seems very responsive. Inexpensive but much larger than my sister's old 120GB HDD I replaced.
Cons: Windows is a pain to copy around. Yay grub (2)... Boooo M$! I kept my sister's M$ bootloader in tact, though.
Other Thoughts: All the people claiming failures so far are either clueless or lying. The 5K500.B line was released early 2009, so Priest Zero and Darla must have purchased some other hard drive (based on their claims of how long they owned the drive). Maybe they were on 5K320 drives?
I don't have benchmarks because my sister wanted her computer back :D
Used Clonezilla to flawlessly copy her Windows Vista install to this new hard drive. Hooked both up to my server (gotta love SATA 2.5"/3.5" matching connectors), booted a Clonezilla CD, and was off! I wasted some time trying to use NTFS clone and manually repair the boot, first. Failed!
