Pros: Works. Hard drives pretty much either work or don't work. So far so good - we'll see after 2 years if it's actually GOOD or not.

Cons: maybe a little noisy, but then, pretty much not much of con cuz it's in a clamshell case and barely noticeable, but it IS noticeable. (Hope it isn't going out)

Other Thoughts: Only 5 stars if it can last 2 years. I don't believe in giving 5 stars for HD's until after time testing.

Pros: Very nice and quiet. No problem installing it. Now to see the long term quality.

Cons: HD failed after 3 months. Hitachi takes ~3 weeks for in-warranty replacement. Must ship old HD back to them in Hitachi-approved packaging. 3rd Hitachi HD I have purchased. 2 of them became defective. Never again.

Pros: It seems like a great drive. I had no problems with getting it to work.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, drive was missing from shipment. This is the first time in many years of shopping w/ the egg that that's happened so I'm not too upset. I'll update once I receive and test it out.

Pros: Quick read and write speeds and flawless quality without a problem in six months.. Not bad for a fair size hard drive at an excellent price.

Other Thoughts: Tonight is the 2nd Hitachi drive I've seen die in the past 2 months. The 1st was with a customer who was ready to move to Windows 7. He ordered this drive for me to do a clean windows install on and it was DOA. It never spun up. So we ordered a WD Green 500GB as a replacement that has been working fine. My Hitachi died tonight. It was pulling duty in a low to medium use Demo / Loaner PC I built so my customers would not be completely out in the cold while waiting on their machines to be repaired. This drive was ordered 5 / 1 / 2010. To die without warning after just 3 months of very light use is just sad. So I'll RMA this one for a replacement but not sure what I could actually trust it with. :(

Pros: Absolutely none

Cons: I received the RMA replacement drive and it to makes the grinding noise starting within 3 minutes of the time it was hooked up.

Other Thoughts: Must be a bad production run. Avoid this one. Definately not up to Hitachi's standards.
