Pros: Price, ran cooler than Seagates I had.

Cons: Bought two in March, both failed in same week (in different systems) in September.

Other Thoughts: Not just these Hitachis. Also had a Seagate and two Western Digitals fail in the last month (and yes, the systems are on UPS.) I really don't know what to trust anymore.

Pros: Works great. No problems.

Copying smaller files is fast... maybe having to do with 32MB Cache? But not sure

Cons: I don't know what 32MB cache especially does?

Pros: 1) Robust build,

2) 32 MB cache buffer at work or at play efficiently,

3) Very cool and quiet operation so far,

4) Packaged well.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this hard drive from Newegg for the sole reason that I needed a quick replacement for my failed Seagate ST3750630AS drive (stay away from it!). I bought the Hitachi drive from J&R store in New York city. To be precise the Hitachi drive model is HDS721010CLA332.

Pros: Have 4 of these running in RAID 5 in an Intel SS4200-e, no issues or problems. Can't hear the unit running at all, located 10' from my chair.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I should buy another as a spare...

Pros: Spacious

Cons: It makes a lot of noise and clicks. It is also so slow that bores you out....Works just like an ancient 10 gigabyte hard drive.

Pros: As fast as 7200 rpm drives get, very quiet in my system (Lian Li PC-A71F case with rubber mounting grommets), so far no problems or quirks of any sort.

Cons: A bit more power hungry than the competition.

Pros: Very quite, I have 4 running in raid 5, one died and they sent me back a replacement right away no issues.

Cons: Wish the turnaround on the warranty was a little bit quicker.

Pros: Good price, run very quiet and cool.

Cons: As others have stated, seem to have a high failure rate for these drives. Have had two drives fail in a RAID 5, but not at the same time. If I were to purchase drives for another RAID, would stay away from these. Also returning drives to manufacture is tricky, make sure you go to their Website and take note.

Other Thoughts: The is the first time I strayed from W*D drives, and wish I had not been swayed by the lower price. Maybe just a bad batch, don't know.

Pros: Great drive. Fast I/O and easy to install. You can't beat the capacity for the price. Windows 7 had no issue seeing these drives and formatting them in seconds.

Cons: None. These are great bare drives. They do not come with any mounting screws or SATA cables, however. Make sure you have some.

Other Thoughts: Unbeatable deal for the price. I bought 2 and have them set up in a RAID mirror.

Pros: None.

Cons: I ordered two of these, both arrived DOA. Another user encountered the same. I just put in for an RMA from newegg. I've never had to ship anything back or use the RMA process from newegg before. We'll see how this goes. I'm not happy, and now I'd rather not use Hitachi drives ever again.

Other Thoughts: Avoid Hitachi drives. I don't know what I was thinking. I've had several Hitachi drives die on me in the past. Cheaper is not always better.
