HGST 0Y30055 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Pros: Good price, Fast shipping, quick install. Everything that a laptop hard drive should be, almost.

Cons: Three months after getting the drive the computer wouldn't boot. Pulled the drive and ran a Check Disk. Checkdisk showed unreadable sectors. Ran HDDTune and there were bad blocks.

Other Thoughts: I will attempt to RMA the drive today. It is frustrating to have down time on the only laptop in the house during school. Especially when the Hard drive is so new.

Pros: Bought this for my laptop but have since moved to my desktop using a 2.5" > 3.5" bracket. Works fine, can't notice the difference in speed between laptops 7200rpm drive.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Got it on sale for under $50. Actual drive space is 465gb. Did not come with sata cable but I had plenty laying around.

Pros: Everything. No complaints, easy installation 200GB more than the drive i had before that broke (because i dropped my laptop).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Formatted to NTFS 465GB usable out of 500GB (rest system reserved). Windows 7 home 64 bit

Pros: Price was fantastic and what is best is that my wife...is very happy with her 2006 Macbook now... that she has a lot more free room

Pros: Cheap
Large capacity

Cons: slow (5400 RPM)

Other Thoughts: Great drive upgrade for PS3

Pros: Arrived a little later than needed--my fault

Cons: will not boot--- can not be seen to even format

Pros: Works as advertised, price was reasonable (we all know how high drive prices have shot up). Newegg offered a deal I couldn't refuse...

Pros: Works in a Slim 120GB PS3. 3 year factory warranty plus I bought the extended warranty. So this thing will out last my PS3. Great upgrade for my system.

Cons: Seems like it writes allot slower then the original one from the PS3. But reads faster then the old one.

Other Thoughts: If it doesn't fail then I am supper happy with it. I love Hitachi products. They are a company that stands by their stuff. I mean most offer a year warranty or 90 days, but 3 years WOW. Even if it is limited warranty, still to stand by it is a great company by far.

Pros: works fine, packaged well for OEM

Cons: No Hitachi support software to prepare drive from within Windows on Hitachi web site

Other Thoughts: I am using this in an 3.5 enclosure which came with disk prep software thankfully. the Hitachi is same size as my workstation Vista 64 Ultimate boot drive and works great with Vista system backup utlility. Takes about 2 hours for full system backup which is fine
