5 out of 5 eggsStill Working!

Pros: Reliability - I installed this in 2007 & it's still working perfectly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm rebuilding a PC I built in 2006, gonna go with 2* 500GB HD's.

5 out of 5 eggs10 years and still kicking

Pros: This is my 1st hdd I ever bought back in 2006. It's in an external enclosure with a fan, that I bought the same year, from a company called Apricorn. I used to use it all the time, but nowadays just on occasion, as it is mostly just backup data. I can't believe the enclouse still works to. It's traveled from the east coast to the midwest through 4-5 different moves.

Speeds seem pretty fast through Firewire.
Not hot.
Not loud.
No problems.

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly

Pros: Needed an IDE hard drive and I didn't want to spend more than $50 on it. This works perfectly. I've been using it sparingly for 4 months with absolutely no problems.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive!

Pros: Seems like a good quality drive. I was happy to get one for such a cheap price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Used this to replace a failing drive in my old PC. Restored an image to it and it seems to be working pretty well.

2 out of 5 eggslong test

Pros: At the time purchased, fall 2006, best price for it's size.

Cons: Unfortunatly though despite it's 5 or was it 7 year warranty I doubt it'll make it 5 years. There currently are mount and recovery issues each time i reboot the system this is on with the rest of the drives (Seagate; older drives at that) running fine.

Other Thoughts: Picked up this drive when it's GB/$ ratio was optimal. Maybe Seagates time of optimal performance has passed and they're going with bleeding edge rather than performance.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive!

Pros: Used this drive to upgrade a friend's PowerMac G4, and it's quiet and fast. Does what it's supposed to do.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Values at Newegg can rarely be beat, and when you consider the speedy service, nobody beats Newegg. After thrity years in electronics and IT, I shope Newegg almost exclusively.

5 out of 5 eggsIn terms of noise, quiet

Pros: I bought 2 of these drives for family, putting her computer together. All I needed to do was get her software install and tested. But wow, during the process, those drives were incredibly quiet. Only the power supply was louder.

Cons: None yet, guess we will see.
