Really nice drive

Pros: I couldn't hear it when it was on. I had to check my cables to make sure it was plugged in.

Capacity is great for the price.

Read and write performance is great.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My first Seagate drive was a 5.25" full height 2 gig SCSI that sounded like an angry squirrel when it would read and write data. You couldn’t tip the case over due to the gyroscopic stability of so many heavy platters spinning about. That drive cost me $2,000 back in 1994…for 2 gigs…and another $500 for a 16 bit ISA controller card… I miss that 486.

I've owned lots of Western Digital and Maxtor drives but I keep coming back to Seagate. Out of the tens of thousands of drives in computers I’ve worked on over the past 20 years very few Seagate drives gave me problems.

A fine drive

Pros: Quiet, fast, spacious, and a good price. What more could you ask for? Been humming along for 6 months now with not a single hiccup.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Actual usable capacity is just under 300GB. Not inherently a con, but I really wish drivemakers would start using the same gigabytes as the rest of us.

Quiet, No Problems

Pros: This drive is really quiet, fast and works better than expected. I have used this hdd for storage, and my main hdd. I have not had any problems.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I wish Seagate would produce more hdd's like this one.
