5 out of 5 eggsdependable and long life

Pros: This hard drive is still in use with no problems to date.

I no longer use it as my main or install an operating system as the age of this hard drive is going on 7 years use near 24/7 365 until 01/2013 when I discontinued my participation in folding@home thereafter using for storage only, though I am transfering what I deem important as these devices most usually do not operate correctly this length of time span.

Cons: wish I had bought a couple more, doubtful these are available now.

Other Thoughts: I've used hard drives till they crash and burn, usually 5 years is the limit, this one is an exception to the rule, health is good at a temp. of 84 degrees Fahrenheit as I type this.

This particular hard drive is still operating within acceptable perimeters as I type with 51,365 hours of operation and 2338 power on count, using CrystalDiskInfo 6.2.2 to give this information.

5 out of 5 eggsStill working fine

Pros: I bought this HDD back in Nov 2007, and am still using it right now. Does not appear to have anything wrong with it. Maybe one hitch about 4 years ago, but didn't seem to effect it.

Cons: I had one weird hitch when the HDD briefly stopped working, but that was back in 2010, and has worked fine ever since. Still going after 7 years.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A great HD! I highly recommend! Still going strong after almost 6 years of constantly being on and used as a gaming pc. I put this in my very first solo build, installed everything myself, including the os. Never has been reformatted in almost 6 years. Best pc I have ever had.

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Reliable, durable, cost

Cons: speed, size

Other Thoughts: This drive has been my primary OS disk on a small file server for over 5 years. It is a good drive to hold an OE that isn't under high demand.

Pros: Good drive, decent performance, runs cool.

Cons: None that I'm aware of.

Other Thoughts: Bought one of these back in 2008 for a PC build for a friend. As far as I know it's still in use and still running strong.

1 out of 5 eggsWill never buy seagates again.....

Pros: New recording technology sounded great and had great reviews. Supposed to be the drive of the future so I bought many of them for myself and friends.......REALLY BAD DECISION

Cons: NOW I have many drives failing all over the place. My desk is covered by re-certified drives they have sent as replacements. They fail much quicker than the originals and are usually sent back with no warranty remaining so when they fail you are done. That may actually be a blessing so you will be forced to then move to Western Digital and end the nightmare. The most current re-certified drive replacement lasted 11 days when I installed it and I was UNABLE to get a good clone copy as it went south quickly. I have already had to replace several friends drives I had installed and shutter to think how many more Seagate time bombs I have out there waiting to fail very soon. The new ones worked fairly will well for maybe 1-2 years then die either in slow motion or get quickly corrupted and unusable.

Other Thoughts: Buy Western Digital drives and be happy. their Blue drives are good and their Black are better. I figure this mechanical drive business is a dying business as SSDs come online with dropping prices. That will eventually be the only way to go, especially in laptop systems where physical shock is such a high concern.
