Pros: It died within the warranty period.

Cons: Well, I bought this drive to replace a WD green drive that failed after a few years. I purchased this item at Best Buy and it worked fine for about 15 months. Then, it stopped showing up in Windows. Now, my computer won't boot with the drive attached.

Other Thoughts: I switched to Seagate after Western Digital started making terrible drives that failed in a few years (most notably the Green series). That was a mistake. 15 month lifespan for a product is terrible. I will never buy another one of these drives, nor any other that Seagate manufactures. I'm sending the drive back because it's still under warranty, but there is no way I would trust my data on another one of these drives.

Pros: Reliable, inexpensive

Other Thoughts: I use this to archive my video ripping and editing. It gets hit hard but is 100% as one would expect from a Seagate. The only thing is that it is very slightly louder than a WD drive. But for my needs that isn't an issue.

Pros: Price, Customer service is great. I had put in a bad review thinking the company wouldn't warranty and the emailed me letting me know that the backed there product 100% and would give a full or refund or replacement.

Cons: Please disregard first review and recommend emailing the buyer first before submitting a review.

Other Thoughts: I would do business with this company again after seeing there great customer service.

Pros: Price.

Cons: Only lasted 3 moths Warranty is 30 day money back 60 day trade. Wasted my money on this one and won't buy from this particular hard drive company again. Took my $60 and ran.

Other Thoughts: I know $60 isn't much for a hard drive and you get what you pay for but it should have lasted more then 3 months. Now on if a manufacture or distributor cannot back there product for at least one year i won't buy from them. Be sure to check seller reviews and not just new egg.

Pros: None now, since it already kicked the bucket.

Cons: Died way too early. I thought it was odd that the hard drive was pretty loud when I first got it, figured this would probably happen, and guess what it did.

Pros: Nice Price for the size

Other Thoughts: Installed Christmas of 2014 failed February 2015. Enough said.

Pros: Disks shipped very quickly. They had no bad blocks, or command issues

Cons: One issue I did find, was the Serial Number did not match what was on the label. Seen this before with Seagate Disks, as factory put the wrong label on the Disk. No big deal really if you use Seagate software, it will pull the Serial number from the firmware.

Pros: I hate to write this review since I have purchased a lot of products thru Newegg.com (for personal and business use) but this is my only recourse since the email us option is not available.

Cons: Purchased the hard drive last Nov 10, 2014 and started to fail last month. Computer will not boot or would just freeze. Ran diagnostic software and noted the hard drive is damaged and irreparable.

Pros: Well Seagate used to be really good.

Cons: The first one of these took data with it when it died. I sent it in for data recovery, and the heads scraped a part of the plater that removed all chance of any recovery.

Seagate didn't want to honor any warrantee. First it was that a qualified operation had the nerve to open the drive. Then since new egg sold me the drive it "had no warrantee." Then did replace the defective drive, and sent me a "cert repaired" replacement.

Today it failed. What is the problem? The clicking sound that the first one had.

Other Thoughts: I might be forced to go back to IBM drives like I used with SCSI. They are noisy, and expensive. (HGST I think they are called now) My old SCSI drives from IBM are still functional. More than I can say for two of Seagate's drives.

Pros: These drives are fast, stable and are usually reliable. I bought two for a RAID-1 from two different lots to ensure they wouldn't die at the same time. They have run very well for 3 years and even survived a SATA controller failure. Excellent RMA service after one of them died. Excellent diagnostic tools.

Cons: So far, one of the two has not lived up to the 5-year warranty. After SMART failure, the bad drive took several attempts to boot up in a functional state, and SeaTools reported 70C temperature on a cold boot.

Other Thoughts: If you can afford it, always go with a RAID if your data is important. Buy one drive from two different places, or order them a month apart, to ensure you get two drives that were made on different dates, or different lots at least. This greatly reduces the chance that the drives will die at the same time.

One of mine started acting up after 3 1/2 years and the RAID kicked it out. I requested an advanced RMA, swapped in the refurb drive they sent me, formatted the bad drive and mailed it back with the included shipping label. Things are working well once again.
