Pros: Nice big hard drives with lots of cache, great for raid.

Cons: When powered on, they make a lot of clicking but afterwords they are pretty quiet.

Other Thoughts: Was worried about the clicking and heard of many that burn up due to a previous firmware version. I looked online for a firmware update and to my surprise both of my hard drives didn't need one, so right there one less thing to do and worry about.

Odd Behavior When Cold

Other Thoughts: My model is actually the ST3500320AS but I can't write a review for it. This HD is used as a combination internal/external drive with several partitions. It worked fine for several months until it spent several hours in the arctic cold. After warming it up it had Windows write errors when used externally and checkdisk would run every time it was used internally. DisKeeper could not access several partitions and file access was very slow. To get it back to normal I had to delete the partitions, make new ones and reformat them. So far it is working fine. Seagate is the only HD brand I've ever had issues with.

Pros: laster more then a year

Cons: Failed and took out the sata cable aswell. Complete failure unable to retrieve anything.

Other Thoughts: Buy WD avoid this drive.
