Pros: Some of the reviews about the firmware issues had me concerned, but the drive I received had different firmware.

Always fast shipping and great prices at Newegg.

Cons: Drive arrived with bad sector that couldn't be repaired by their Seatools software. Have contacted Seagate about a replacement drive.

Other Thoughts: Will update based on the response I get from Seagate

5 out of 5 eggsThey work

Pros: So good so far

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Bought 5 to build raid 5. Windows 7 gave a wrong positive on one of the disks at initial installation. After updating windows I did not have any issues. This is my second raid 5 with the same disks I built. No probs. 5 disks on raid 5 give a good performance. Too lazy to run benchmark

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT buy

Pros: lol?

Cons: I bought this thing in Newegg's super pack, basically an i7 based bundle so you can build a complete system with it, and unfortunately this failure of a HDD was included in it.
On the very first run I got the clicking sound of death, followed by motherboard screaming that this SATA device is BAD in capital letters, telling me to back up & replace. That's how awesome this HDD is...

Other Thoughts: It makes you wonder why Newegg bundless and sells this horrible device, still until this day, while there are countless negative reviews (222 pages on newegg and counting), on youtube.com, forums & everywhere you look! This whole 7200.11 series is just a ticking time bomb, even updated firmware won't save you from this thing just dying one day.

Pros: Was pretty fast and a good value for a 7200rpm, 1.5GB drive.

Cons: Died in less than a year. Click of death just kept getting worse and worse...

5 out of 5 eggsThey work

Pros: They are cheap and when installed in a computer, they provide a lot of storage space.

I purchased 4 drives and none of them arrived DOA.

Cons: None, The drives perform as expected.

Other Thoughts: I usually only buy Western Digital drives. Just had my first one fail after 6 years of 100% up time. I guess I will find out how reliable Seagate is.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Great drives for 90 bucks, i bought these last year when they were $150 and they were worth it then.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have three of these drives and have not had one issue what so ever. All these people that say these drives suck and you get what you pay for applies to nothing about these drives. Remember, after time cost for HD's come down a lot as new tech comes out. These are in no way cheaply built drives. And it is not any bigger than any of the 3 other hard drives i have in my home. But it is bigger than my 250, which is understandable

5 out of 5 eggsits nice except...

Pros: its big, its big, its big. and did i mention its big. and its seagate.

Cons: first day i got it, it crashed, come to find out seagate should have had a recall on the one i had and all of them in that batch with old firmwear. the odds of me getting it were so small i am still going to give it 5 eggs.
