5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Portable Drive

Pros: I love this drive. I've owned it for just over two years now and it's still going strong. I use it everyday to transfer and work on files between school and home. It spends most of its days in my purse being ferried to and from.
I formatted it with SwissKnife and it works great with Macs and PCs.

Cons: I can't really think of any cons.

Cons: canle it comes with is like 3 or 4 inches, had to use another cable that was lying around. didnt come with docking station, but thats why its cheaper

Other Thoughts: i only use this for safe keeping my photos, and since my wife is a photographer for a hobbie i have alot. i didnt install the auto backup software it came with since im not using it for that so cant help you there

5 out of 5 eggsGet drive

Pros: I bought this drive because it was small (portable) and had a 5 year warranty. I was expecting it to be slow (given that it's a 2.5 inch drive with 5400 rpm) but it's relatively fast and backup was easy (comes with a back up program pre-installed) and fast. I use it connected to a dual boot system (Vista and Ubuntu) and both sides integrate with the drive perfectly. Of course Vista can't unmount it (but it has problems unmounting any usb devices, and the linux side is much quicker in accessing data on this drive, but that's also to be expected.

Cons: no so far

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very happy with the drive and New Egg customer service while ordering the drive. Quiet, and cool.

Cons: I wanted to be able to take the drive apart so I can use it to test laptops. This drive is not meant to be taken apart. The chasis is held together with double sided tape.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

Pros: Great drive. Is powered off of USB port. Small. Relatively quiet. Cool LED design shows you when drive is powered. MUCH quicker than a jump drive. You can boot off if these drives if you a have a MAC.

Cons: You have to pay extra for a carrying case and doc. Only the FIREWIRE 800 version has the dock and case combined.

Other Thoughts: No clue what the guy was complaining about. Seagate will replace the drive unless you've taking it surfing at the beach or used it as a cat toy.

Drive has a 5 year warranty and I haul mine all over the place doing high tech plumber work.
