Great Drive!!!
- Pros: Fast Speed, Quiet, Reliable, Fast Boot time, Huge for laptop!, cheap
- Cons: Eats power
- Other Thoughts: I have had no problems whatsoever with my drive. I ended up putting 2 of them in my laptop. My battery was about fried to begin with, but before the drives i could go about 30 minutes, now its about 8 minutes. Very fast drives, very quiet, will definately buy them again!
Loud, Vibrates a Lot!
- Pros: Fast, cheap
- Cons: Installed in my MacBook pro 13". Vibration was so bad, I couldn't stand to use the keyboard. It vibrates the whole computer, including the screen. Put the stock drive back in, and it is back to smooth.
To test, I attached each drive to an external hookup, and you can really see how much louder and more vibrating this drive really is. If this is how it is new, I doubt it will last long.
So far, so good
- Pros: Using this drive for more than 2 months, so far. No problems to report. Drive is quiet and fast.
- Cons: None, so far.
- Other Thoughts: I've had bad experiences with Seagate drives in the past. I took a chance on this one and so far I am not disappointed. I wanted the faster speed to help with video capture, and it did what I needed. The only drive available in this class when I bought it, so my options were limited. I am now considering buying another.
