Seagate Expansion 500GB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive

Pros: No installation problems on three different computers. Completely plug-n-play with WinXP.
Still working great after a year of moderate (admittedly not heavy) use. (I mainly copy files to and from, don't stream media from it.)

Cons: None; no complaints here.

Other Thoughts: Seems like by the time you can vouch for something not conking out within a year, it's OOS or no longer being made. Ah, well...I'm still very happy with this unit.

Cons: Nothing really, except for the fact that I need more capacity.

Other Thoughts: Ive had this HD for about 2 years now. I've never had an issue with it, i'm just in the process if searching for a new one. I'm def a fan of seagate. I dropped this thing on my mothers kitchen tile and its still working like a charm. I'm looking for a 1TB drive that I can use as my MBP back up and keep movies on to stream to my TVs and such.

Pros: This thing is great. stores all my music and pics. fast. quiet. and tough. i can't count how many times my daughter has tossed this thing on the floor but it always seems to work great.

Cons: none

Pros: It is light, it seems well built and solid. I have not had it long enough to say whether or not it is reliable, but this is why I bought it because others said it is.

Cons: It is slow to transfer data. Not super slow, but not fast, far from fast. On the slow side.

The AC adapter is bad. I am getting rid of mine because of the inconvenience. I can buy a portable smaller drive with 500GB for the same price or under with no external AC adapter power supply.

Other Thoughts: If someone wants a well built solid external hard drive and does not plan on moving ti around much, and doesn't mind needing to plug it in, this is good. But why not just get an internal drive if you still have the room? Otherwise, there are other options for the same or better price with added benefits.

Pros: easy to install and reformat for Mac Time Machine. Sleek design.

Cons: wish it had a power off button. I don't leave it constantly running.

Other Thoughts: Use it for weekly backups. No problems. Got it for $50.. must have been a good deal! Solid little drive. Have both WD and Seagate drives.. both have preformed well.

Pros: Looks good, works fine.

Cons: for a back up drive, none really

Other Thoughts: software is annoying, but I just deleted it right away.

Pros: I've had this guy for about a month now and still going strong.
Pretty quiet, of course you're going to hear it when it's writing just like any other hard drive.
Very easy to use; as long as you now how to plug in a USB port and move files there's nothing more you need to know.

Other Thoughts: Currently using it for back-up for my home desktop. I like it alot

Pros: Works with softmodded Wii. Looks slick.

Other Thoughts: No problems with softmodded Wii so far. Using it to back up my games and play off of. Just make sure to set your Connect 24 standby mode off, otherwise this hard drive will continue powered up in standby (yellow light on wii). Make sure the light is red and this drive will power itself down after a few minutes.

Pros: For what I purchased the HDD(backing up data), its doing the job. No errors so far or troubleshooting.

Cons: As of yet, none I can think of. Installation was annoying though.
