The BlackArmor NAS 440 from Seagate is a small-business-specific storage portfolio that seamlessly combines hardware, software and services to provide optimum data uptime and integrity to ensure business continuity. This advanced storage solution has four SATA drives to provide 4TB storage capacity so you are ready to go right out of the box. This is more than a NAS device it is also support data recovery, priority tech support, and DLAN and iTunes media streaming.
The NAS comes with a 1.2 GHz processor and 256MB RAM for maximum performance. It supports multiple volumes of RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and JBOD. An on-board LCD screen on the top indicates timely status information of the NAS. Four USB 2.0 ports connect devices for network expansion.

NAS 440
- Pros: Easy to setup once you have the latest Firmware integrates into Active Directory easily.
- Cons: Had one defective drive when I received it. Seagate RMA the drive quickly though.
Not bad for home use, but skip for business use
- Pros: Well built, quiet unit that comes bundled with drives. UI is straight forward, but a little crude.
- Cons: Windows AD integration is not working, read the Seagate forums and you'll see most people can't get AD integration working. The NFS support is OK but have issues connecting to it from Windows.
- Other Thoughts: This is a nice SMB or home use product, but any any serious business use it is very limitied.
