Cons: Nothing wrong with the drive, it works well right out of the box, this is about the warranty. Since the warranty clock starts running from the moment it leaves the manufacturers hands, check the expiration date of the warranty on Seagate's website as soon as you get it. Then call Seagate, they may be able to restart the clock from your purchase date instead of the shipping date. Seagate is not the only company that does this, Gateway for example does this as well. It may now be an industry wide practice. Since the warranty was a factor in my buying this drive over others, I want all of the time I am entitled to. 1 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Other Thoughts: As most people know, once a drive is formatted it is really a size less than advertised number. This one comes factory formatted with NTFS and has only 596 GB usable disk space.
