5 out of 5 eggsLots of storage and looks good.

Pros: A little chrome and the black dock make it more attractive and stylish than most drives. 640GB's in a small package. It's a desktop drive in the dock, but small, light, and ready for travel when removed from the dock. It works well on Windows 7 and XP.

Cons: I deleted the software installed on the drive so I can't comment on that. Neither can I report on its longevity, but I have two other Freeagents that have served me well for quite a while. I have no serious complaints.

Other Thoughts: I've had good luck with these Freeagents and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a portable drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal, comes with a dock too

Pros: Cheap storage, reasonably fast transfer rates, sleek black look. I had a silver 250GB over a year ago and upgraded to this. The drive is pretty resiliant to the rigors of a field technician. Comes with a desktop dock that has dual USB plugs on it (incase one port alone is underpowered) and the standard short USB cord. You can remove the backup / encryption software and make it a clean drive (unlike WD with its firmware UDF CD drive emulation on its Passports)

Cons: This case has no screws in it so if you're looking to get it just to turn around and pull the bare drive out, you'll end up destroying the case. Besides, you may be surprised to find out that it may not even be a Seagate hard drive inside.

Not so much a con, just a PSA ;-)

Other Thoughts: Using a Dell Latitude D630, Win7 64bit, 4GB RAM:

Write speed ~22MB/s
Read speed ~32MB/s
