5 out of 5 eggsFantastic bargain

Pros: - Drive arrived exactly as described
- Had latest firmware loaded and drive when it arrived, I/O looks much better than the latest ES.2 drives.
- already has 200 run hours on it, broken in and ready to go as soon as you unwrap it, no burn in neccessary

- Linux mdstat loaded this drive into RAID perfectly, no issues.

Cons: - As mentioned in other reviews, please don't be stupid and ignore the directions... Remove the jumper and unleash the 3.0Gb/s functionality on this sucker.

- Wish that Seagate would carry a warranty over on these drives. After 30-days if this drive goes bad, it's a paperweight... Period.

Other Thoughts: Re-certified drives are generally more reliable since they show up with updated firmware and rebuilt motors. They also have a shorter MTBF though so don't tease yourself into thinking that this drive will outlast a Retail Box unit...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy`

Pros: This is an outstanding bargain for a 750G RAID certified drive. I have some smaller Seagate RAID drives from the same time of manufacture. The earlier drives are going strong, 9 of 10 surviving a 24/7 RAID environment. These drives are quiet and cool running.

Cons: NONE really. BE SURE TO REMOVE THE LITTLE WHITE JUMPER WHICH DEFAULTS TO 1.5 G/s AKA SATA 1. You'll notice a decided improvement in formatting time.

Other Thoughts: These drives are a great price per Gigabyte ratio. These ate 2007 technology. Who cares if the drives are able to provide fast, cool, and quiet service.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Works as advertised. Got it with no bad sectors on disk. I'm usually not a Seagate fan but I couldn't pass on the price I got it for.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: Take the jumper out of you want it to operate at Sata II speeds. Otherwise its gonna be at 1.5 gb/s Sata I speeds. Same type of deal with all Sata II hard drives...

3 out of 5 eggsOdd

Pros: Good Amount of Storage, price is ok.

Cons: After Finally getting this drive and my Windows reinstalled, and a few things off my Seagate 500GB drive, am considering going back to it. This drive seems to have cut my Windows Experience to 5.7 from 5.9 on the 500GB drive, and it was a SATA 1 Setup for some reason. Box says SATA II 3.0Gbs but it wasn't and this drive was locked at that before installing. So with that, tells me that if I have better it reports worse. Also trying to get my Cabal Online to install from another drive, or even on this drive, now Windows is crashing left and right. I have not seen a drive do this to any system until I got this one online and running.

Other Thoughts: I maybe will get a Return or maybe just get a WD 750 drive and use that, at least that won't be making my other drives, not readable. They are excepting in a few directories. But overall at this point, Storage is good, for my Main drive, as the 2nd is a TB Seagate for my Recorded TV. The other 2 250 drives are wd drives. Something is odd. Oh and Seatools, they do not read AHCI at all.
