Pros: Great upgrade drive for my ps3 game console

Cons: works like it was supposed to
use it to keep games, dlc movies music and more on my ps3!

Pros: Installed easily enough.

Cons: Within 2 weeks, began experiencing hard crash to Blue Screen of Death more and more frequently. Had it checked out by a pro; indications of surface damage to the platter, numerous bad sectors and weak sectors, and a remaining lifespan estimated at 52 days.

Pros: Excellent speed, reliability and warranty. Had the drive for 3 years now and zero problems.

Cons: Currently higher priced then when I bought it 3 years ago

THE G FORCE DRIVE DROP PROTECTOR DOES NOT WORK. that is how my drive failed when a friend knocked it off a bed.

Other Thoughts: WD has a 5 year replacement policy, seagate only 2 years. what does that tell you?

i got exactly 2 years out of my drive, and then it failed.

call me a WD fan boy.... but i buy HDDs from known brands that are known to last 6 years. currently, WD does exactly that.

seagate has switched to lower price, OEM style

Other Thoughts: So my drive just crashed, wont mount, cant read any data. Todays date is 2/5/14 came here to see when it was bought -> 2/23/13 Less than 1 year... I get things happen but this is OR was the main drive on my macbook and is the first hard drive to ever fail on me. Not fun...

Pros: Got this drive to use as a portable hard drive in a 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosure. So far, it seems to work perfectly for that purpose. It draws relatively low power from the 5v USB line and even works fine with it hooked to a single USB port on my net book. A lot of drives will refuse to spin up unless they are either plugged into a high power USB port or used with a dual USB cable to plug into two ports.

This drive is also quiet and seems pretty fast for a laptop drive. I can't really hear it unless I put my ear up to the enclosure. It does not heat up much either and when I felt the drive while copying a lot of large files, the drive was barely warm.

Cons: None as of yet.

Pros: Drive is relatively fast. Runs my mid-2011 Mac Mini quite well.

Cons: Drive is getting read errors after 2.5 years

Other Thoughts: I've been buying Seagate drives for at least 10 years. I've had several fail after a couple of years (and gotten warranty replacements), and most have lasted 3 to 10 years (and still running fine). Fortunately, I've never had one go instantly belly-up. This drive is the same story -- after 2.5 years it's starting to get a few errors, but it's still running. So I will clone it to another disk and retire it. Perhaps I should switch to a different vendor, but I'll probably stick with what's been mostly good luck.

Pros: You can feel the difference @7200, I just used this Hard dirve to install inux in my laptop this one boots faster, I can really see the difference!

Cons: I haven't found a con yet.

Other Thoughts: The delivery was ridiculous fast, I mean at 1pm I bought the item and the next day it was on my office!! I'm really happy

Cons: Produce excessive heat

Other Thoughts: Not sure why, but its making my laptop excessively hot. I have to shut it down after 1 hour usage to cool it down. And my laptop is not too old. Hardly 2 years. I purchased a similar Western Digital Scorpio Black, which runs way cooler. Not sure what's wrong with this Seagate ?

Pros: It was cheaper than competitor. 7200 RPM.

Cons: Arrived dead. It would only make noise! I got it for my granddaughter's laptop. I had to wait for her to return from a college trip so I have had it for 58 days. 30 days here and gone, can't return it to New Egg now I have to return to manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: SSD's are cheap (Sort Of). I will get that for the granddaughter and use this thing when I get it back as something to sell.
