5 out of 5 eggsGood Drives

Pros: These have been solid performing drives for me.
These seem to operate to spec in my RAID.

Cons: Could be a tad less expensive.

3 out of 5 eggsOpen Box Review

Pros: Packaged in plastic clamshells, wrapped in 1" thick bubble wrap.

Cons: Though the drives I ordered were listed as "Open Box" what I received were "Certified Repaired". The warranty on these drives seems to be approximately 5 years (mine ranged from 4.5 to 4.75 years left on the warranty). Given the standard drives are quoted a 3 year warranty, this is not a bad thing.

Other Thoughts: Though I have no current performance information, I felt obliged to note the type of drives shipped to fulfill the "Open Box" order. I will give a separate rating for the drive performance when I have data for that.

3 out of 5 eggsUnable to use

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Unable to connect drive using sata cable. Could not find cable to fit, and drive did not include one.

4 out of 5 eggsNice drives

Pros: These drives work great and are relatively cool.

Cons: Insane price...

Other Thoughts: I have found Barracudas to be just almost as reliable... the key word there is almost. Thats the only reason I but them over barracudas.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Quiet

Pros: 500Gigs of space, quiet, very fast and INEXPENSIVE compared to SSD's

Cons: None as of now. Reliability being the only thing that would change my rating of this drive.

Other Thoughts: Running 4 of these in RAID 0 (just checking them out) on a LSI MegaRAID SAS 9260-4i on Win 7 64, Crystal Disk Mark brings back a 730Mbs/R 535Mbs W. Are you kidding me? These are quiet, do not get overly hot and just work. I have had them running for about 30 days.
