2 out of 5 eggsDied within 2.7 years.

Pros: I guess I'll give one egg for it going beyond the 2 year limitation. Sigh... I remember the warranties being 5 years as a standard.

Cons: Dead. Dead dead dead.

Other Thoughts: When you hear the clicks (sounds like a mouse and a turn table?) it's already too late. Turned on the computer one day, and the computer no longer recognized it. Didnt have time to back up files and here I am debating if its even worth sending back for the extended warranty. Not like i can get my files back. Time to invest some research in a home server cloud.

3 out of 5 eggsTwo Year Death

Pros: Made life amazing for me when it still worked, large storage and good transfer rate.

Cons: Died after 28 months of owning.

Other Thoughts: This drive will only last about 2 years, look for a better drive that will last for a long time, or use it as a storage drive in stead of the OS hard drive

2 out of 5 eggsDud?

Pros: Reasonably priced.

Cons: I must have got a dud.

Other Thoughts: Been having game crashes and BSOD issues. I downloaded and ran Seagate's SeaTools to diagnose and repair the HD. Repairs failed. Has a 24 month limited warranty and I am in month 25. Just as well, I am switching to SSDs.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 2 years

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Failed after 2 years

Other Thoughts: Even though I bought this HDD with a 2 year warranty almost exactly 2 years ago (4/1/2013), Seagate's RMA checker reports it is out of warranty. Fortunately I was able to salvage the important data off of it before it completely died, but this kind of reliability is unacceptable. I won't be recommending Seagate anymore (even though the Barracuda XT is supposedly better).

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a Hard Disk Drive

Pros: Hasn't failed on me, and stores lots of data.

Cons: After owning a SSD, this thing feels slower that before.. but for a HDD, this is still great!
