Pros: None yet, cannot use drives.

Cons: I bought 2 drives to create a raid 1. 1 of the drives was DOA.

5 out of 5 eggsNeweg has these listed wrong.

Pros: These drives are NOT laptop hard drives... despite them being filtered into that category by Newegg. They are desktop/ enterprise class hard drives specifically made in the 2.5" form factor.

However they are OUTSTANDING data storage solutions. They have industry leading reliability, flexibility for raid solutions, a 64mb cache, 7200 rpm, and the must have 6gbps sata III for the desktop enthusiast. The 2.5" form-factor means they are small enough to be quad stacked in a 5.25" bay when you have the right bay device. Hot swapping for sata 6gbps is finally becoming more readily available without wading through tons of sata II bay devices. So they are ideal for that as well, since they occupy significantly less space when out of rotation.

All in all they are a top shelf HDD. Despite that they are clearly not a Laptop Hard Drive, as Newegg has them listed.

Cons: This, as well as all the constellation drives will not fit into your laptop, so please bear that in mind before purchasing them. They are much taller than a standard 2.5" drive. 15mm is the listed maximum height of all the constellation drives according to Seagate. That also means that some of the hot-swap solutions out there wont accept them. 0.591"/ 15.00mm is much larger than the standard 9.2mm so you can see the issue.

Honestly this isnt a con... its just an issue because Newegg has had these things listed in the wrong filter for so long... They have been in here since the original Constellation drives were made available on Newegg.

The major con for me is they wont let me buy more than one at a time. Its a PITA setting up a new raid config when your supplier will only sell you a drive at a time.

Other Thoughts: I am a micro-atx advocate, so the smaller form factor makes them ideal for the kinds of machines I put together. I get a kick out of making a PC with as much or more utility/ functionality/ power, as that of a giant tower, while occupying half as much space.

3 out of 5 eggsToo Big!

Pros: This drive has excellent capabilities for the price with a 64MB cache and 7200 RPM!

Cons: It's too big! It would not fit in my hard drive slot on my laptop...nearly 2x as deep as the other HD. I wish I had known this before I wasted my time ordering it. They really should list that in the details section so we can avoid buying hard drives that won't fit!
