Pros: Quality/Finish of construction.
Response time loading files.
Ease of use.
Included accessories.
You CAN use the internet while streaming videos, don't listen to other reviewer.
Multiple devices at once supported.
WPA PSK2 options with programmable SSID and passkey.
Great Web Interface through browser.
Compact Size.
USB 3.0 capable.

Cons: Boot-up time can be a little long before the Wifi is ready.
Seagates app to access the drive via tablet is slow to startup and instead of showing your file hierarchy it just dumps all videos into one giant list (which is why its slow at first, but there is a way to filter it to show proper hierarchy - not sure why that isn't the default, or why it wont remember your preference.)
Wish it had a better battery status indication via LED.
Using USB connection to one computer kills the ability to use wifi to another, also plugging in unit to a computer while the wifi is on will not allow you to access the drive until you turn off the unit completely (it will turn back on automatically, just without wifi enabled.)

Other Thoughts: I am blown away by this item. It was a little more than I expected.

To enable the internet, you need to access the settings via the web browser or the Seagate app and the unit itself will connect the router for the internet, its very straight forward when you see it, and then feed it to your device along with the media stream - very cool and works well.

Pros: Nice compact package makes it very portable, and it includes a car charger!

Cons: Does NOT support uploads from the iPad due to the proprietary operating system, nor does it support WebDAV or FTP protocols, so you must use Seagate's app. If you had intended to use this device to back-up your iPad photos/videos--chose another product (Seagate offers such a product).

Other Thoughts: Searching the Web will reveal that there is a hack available for the GoFlex Satellite that provides open protocol access. Good luck!

Pros: Easy assembly, nice packing, got on sale. Great color and lighting.

Cons: Maybe a bit short compared to the old ones. Only 14 in the pack lol. Could be brighter.

Other Thoughts: Bought these for my parents and they love them.

Pros: Easy to set up and use. Streams movies and other file access. I like the option to sync documents from my computer. I bought this unit to bring my computer files with me while on the road.

Cons: Does not support Office 2007 or new versions. I bought this unit to be able to bring my computer file on the road. I found newer versions of office files do not display easily. I am able to made older versions work just by opening the file. Also have to switch wireless connection on ipad everytime I want to access the unit.

Other Thoughts: Although it is not perfect, it is the best I have seen to carry your computer files with you when traveling. Since the ipad has no SD slots, transferring data and using up space on the iPad is an issue. This hard drive solves these issues.

Pros: Absolutely easy to install and use immediately. Updates to firmware and app have improved its functionality.

Cons: Although the tech data sheet indicates that you can play audible files (formats 2,3,4) I have had no luck in doing so. Several instructional emails from Seagate support have resulted in no success and the last one I received indicated that perhaps the app just cannot play those files so maybe the tech data sheet should be revised. These audible files will not play via the web app either.

Other Thoughts: Just disappointed since I thought I could load my audible books on the drive and play them with the app as indicated on the tech data sheet.

Pros: works well in spite of crushed packaging

Cons: worried that shipping damage seen in package when it arrived may indicate future early failure

Pros: Setup right out of the box was quite easy with the "Quick Start Guide" included in the box......read it! My 32GB iPad 4 is maxed out for storage and this 500GB Wi-Fi drive only makes my life easier. The drive is really, really, really nice for streaming movies and music when your away from home, if you remember to take your GoFlex Wi-Fi with you.

Cons: The drive has no battery status indicator other than a small indicator light that changes color when it time for a charge.

Other Thoughts: Newegg gets 5+ stars on this drive because of the price I paid and the drive shipped across country and arrived at my door in less than three days.

Pros: Cool concept! Exactly what I was looking for to extend the storage of my iPad

Cons: Constantly disconnected from my iPad in every minute. I suspect this has something to do with their latest firmware where this device trying/retrying to look for an internet connection or something.

Other Thoughts: Cost me 12% of the purchased price to return to Newegg, but on the bright side, I lost only 12% of my investment on this piece of paper weight.

Pros: Additional storage space and wireless

Cons: does not function as full network drive for windows. Have to access with internet browser. Can't connect to internet while using.

Pros: As a freelance designer I have to travel to see clients, customize my portfolio on the fly or be in a place where internet access is prohibited or not a viable option. So the thought of carrying my work to be accessed from my mobile device or laptop was awesome.

Cons: On 3rd drive and crossing fingers that I don't have to return this one.
• 1st drive stopped working after two weeks. Went on line read forums tried fixes, short term solutions.
• Seagate support was helpful & didn't even bother trouble shooting the problem just had me do an RA. NOTE: don't go for the expedited shipping, it takes them 2 days to fulfill the order and another 2 to ship, not worth it unless you really need the drive.
• 2nd drive was a refurb unit and wouldn't hold a charge. Immediately called, a New replacement was sent and is working (fingers crossed).

Other Thoughts: I have no issues with Newegg or Seagate, I will continue to buy from both. The service was prompt & courteous I just wish the product preformed as detailed. I see a new version is out but will wait before jumping into that pool.
