The speed is good, though it is used as my data drive. Cons: It can be a little noisy, but as a data drive it is only running when accessing certain files. It took my TV monitor longer to start up Cons: Lasted less then 3 weeks before I noticed a burning smell coming from my computer... Other Thoughts: I have always heard bad reviews from this company but since I need a cheap drive for my first custom pc and this was on sale, I decided to take a chance. Cons: None Other Thoughts: I am a bit of a Space hog and generally like to get the largest hard drives I can find. I purchased this hard drive as a primary drive for a new machine I was building. While I'm going to buy some knock-off mega 4 giggers, I went with a Seagate for the main system because I wanted reliability. Cons: For reasons that escape me, this drive will NOT boot XP. Other Thoughts: I didn't have the heart to give less than 4 Eggs because it's a good drive. I don't know if I overlooked something, but this HDD will not support XP Home Edition or Pro. Vista and 7 boot fine, but I don't know about Windows 8. Did you find this review helpful?
