Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: None this time, unless you count hearing interesting sounds when powering up the drive. Almost musical variety of squeaks, squeals, and clicks.

Cons: Did not work. DOA.

Other Thoughts: Shipped quickly. Newegg packaged the drive very well, plenty of cushioning. Customer service was great, very quick and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to order again.

Pros: i got it on sale for $59 cheapest most reliable drive/company out there. installed windows 7 pro with no issues. used it in my dad's build and he is making a great transition to gaming so this is a great start. also i purchased the same drive from am azon over a year ago and still no problems. that is what swung my decision.

Cons: none so far!

Other Thoughts: now that its been a year and ive used over half of the drive. windows loads a little slow. so an ssd would be handy in my case.
but for my dad he should be just fine for at least a year if that i doubt he fills it up. as ive used just over half. for a budget build or just getting started you cant go wrong with this drive. unless your a moron. which i know there are plenty of out there.

YES their are plenty of larger drives out there but this is the cheapest most reliable option when even just researching your options.
this drive came wrapped in bubble wrap..(didnt know they still used the stuff) and an anti static bag underneath. very well packaged newegg! am azon did not ship drive in the same manner an anti static bag 2 pieces of plastic holding it stationary in the center. made me a little uneasy at first being my first build and all.

but i recommend buying this drive on sale or not. because its reliable and is cheap enough to beat out competition at least at regular discount pricing.

Pros: 1TB, solid mechanical drive, 7200 RPM.
Drives function well, ordered 3 of them and all three worked great.

Cons: none I can think to mention.

Pros: Wow bought it when the deal was on for 64 dollars
Reads and writes pretty fast for a HDD
really thin compared to other 1tb options

Other Thoughts: its used purely for installing my games (good purpose for it)

Pros: This is meant for security came footage.

This HDD is ont the all-arounder I hoped it would be.
For this day and age it is not even large capacity.

Cons: I would never again get this HDD. The specs are there but this HDD is a stone. I got a 2T that seems like SSDs compared to this one.

Webpages don't pop like they should. Programs open with theatre curtain drama, I mean slow. Stufff has no pop. Feels like it is in a molasses bath or something.

This is just a balky mess.

Poor as an OS device to say the least.

I would call it a "RETRO" HDD.......feels like it is a 10 year old model

Pros: High quality and inexpensive for 1TB of storage. Very reliable.

Other Thoughts: People only seem to write reviews on hard drives when they receive DOAs, so I'm going to write one for the 10+ of these drives I've received that have installed and worked perfectly. Have yet to receive a DOA or have any of them fail. These are good and reliable drives and are a great value when on sale.

Other Thoughts: let me save you all some time forget the firmware for this thing i tried several different versions of the firmware all failed. to make this work you need Seagate DriveWizard. allocate the space. and enable the drive. this worked for me in windows 8 should work on other versions as well
