1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: Great when it works.

Cons: The connector on these is absolutely horrible. It constantly loses connection when trying to work with it. The cable is very stiff and a hassle to work with. I am very disappointed I purchased 5 of these, and every single one of them barely works after only a few months use. I highly recommend purchasing a different drive.

2 out of 5 eggsSame cable disconnection problems as everyone else

Pros: - Great form factor
- Feels rugged, the edges are a bit rubberized
- Good price, good capacity
- nice short (portable) cable

Cons: If I plug it in and don't touch it it works decently. If I touch or brush up against the cord at all the computer says the HDD was disconnected without ejecting and whatever I was doing breaks.

Last time I tried to use it I got an incredibly slow 2M/sec. I have no idea if it was temporary or what but I'm having a hard time trusting my data with it at this point.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't buy again. I'll take reliability over looks any day.

2 out of 5 eggsGood drive, terrible connector

Pros: Fast, quiet, little to no heat detectable

Cons: As has been said in many previous reviews, the usb connector in the drive is highly unstable. It's purely a design flaw on the part of Toshiba's manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: I've researched the Toshiba support for this drive. Seems to be nonexistent, so I plan to remove the drive and place in a different case. Good luck to anyone with this particular model

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive!

Pros: Looks nice, performs well.

Cons: Cable is kinda short.

Other Thoughts: I see a lot of complaints about the cable not staying in the drive well. I chose to order the drive anyways because I'm competent enough to keep it still while it transfers files. When I received the drive, the first thing I noticed is that this issue has been rectified, at least with the drive I got, to the point that I could swing the drive around by the cable because of how strong the link was.

2 out of 5 eggsCompact but no good

Pros: Nice little drive, sleek look, was at a good price when I got it.

Cons: The cable for this drive is Toshiba-specialty, and is very thick/stiff. As such, the torque caused from trying to lay the drive flat snapped the port on the drive within a month, making the drive completely unusable. Toshiba messed up big time on their cable choice.

Other Thoughts: Had Toshiba gone with a more traditional cable, the torque wouldn't be an issue. I would NOT recommend this drive to anyone for the sole reason that the cable/connector combo is a terrible choice.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Drive!

Pros: This drive is light, uses USB power so no lugging around an external PSU. Very Fast. I was amazed at how fast this drive was able to copy a few Gb's of data.

Cons: The only one I can think of is that the USB cable that connects to the drive is a proprietary style so if you lose that cable for whatever reason you'd need to order another, it's also VERY short. You can extend the usb end with an extender however if you wanted to leave it on your desktop.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this drive because I take large audio files back and forth between recording studios and didn't want to have to bring a large drive and psu every time I wanted to bring a project to another facility. This drive has allowed me to work faster and more efficiently hands down. Highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT DRIVE

Pros: fast, reliable, lots of storage

Cons: haven't had any

Other Thoughts: Being what is called a GeoBachlor in the Navy (i am stationed 1 place, my family is living elseware), I do alot of traveling to see them, plus late duty nights and such. I have had NO problems with this drive, the connector is solid for micro connector, this drive gets used for hours at a time as it is my media drive shared to my Xbox 360 via extender, I have never had this drive not work.

For those complaining about a proprietary connector, the connector is only proprietary to USB3.0, it is the standard USB3.0 MICRO connector, do some research! also, for any thinking there drive is only a paperweight, I would be happy to take the drive off for hands, just send your paperweight to me.

1 out of 5 eggsAgh

Pros: This was great when it worked.

Cons: Disconnects in the middle of file transfer, cord doesn't connect properly, and after 5 months of use...it died.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste any money on this ext hard drive. As many other reviewers have said, it will die on you.
