TOSHIBA MQ01ABD050 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive

Pros: Very happy with this hardrive. I upgraded from a 80gb ps3 hardrive to a 500gb. My ps3 is an old school one. Very simple to just put in the ps3 and put the latest firmware update and bam 500 gb. Some else wrote how its not exactly 500gb more like 465. In reality all the updates and software is more than likely taking up that extra space that makes up the difference.

Cons: none

Pros: Got this to replace my Toshiba 320gb hard drive since it went bad after 4 years and its been solid replacement. The ps3 slim had no trouble recognizing the hard drive. Make sure that you have the latest firmware update on a flash drive or external hard drive that's FAT32 since you will need it when the ps3 is formatting your new hard drive. You can get the latest firmware from www.playstation.com

With the 500gb hard drive after formatting I got 412gb/500gb to work with.

Cons: None so far

Pros: as mentioned in the title, its quiet and fast. Installed in my MacBook Pro along with an SSD. Read and write speeds seem fast, and the price seems fair. I actually have two of these, one which came out of a Toshiba Canvio 3.0 portable hard drive I bought from my local store with Mart in the name. Exact same hard drive, but it was actually only 53.97 there and you get a USB 3.0 enclosure.

Cons: None found so far.

How can you write a review (even if its a positive one) on a product that you don't own or have never even seen?

I don't know what the other guys problem was, but both of mine show a 499.76GB drive capacity, which is close enough to 500 for me.

Pros: its really good quite and fast drive it came with my hp laptop working excellent till.

Cons: no cons.

Other Thoughts: previously i have a bad experience with Toshiba hdd but i think Toshiba have done improved its product.

Pros: Installed in my wife's macbook as an upgrade! Wanted to stay with the oem brand that came with the macbook. Only lasted 45 days. Crashed non-recoverable and can no longer even repartition the drive through OS X 10.7 disk utility.

Cons: Short Lived!

Pros: I just ordered one of these based on a previous review which indicates it will be a good upgrade for our PS 3. Can not wait for it. We are working with an 80G factory PS 3 hard drive which we have filled up with 2 years of normal use. Please hurry my new hard drive. I'll let you know how it performs :~)

Pros: It works

Cons: I dropped the old one and it doesn't work.

Pros: The specifications match up perfectly with a standard PS3 hard drive.

Works perfectly with PS3

Cons: Not 500GB's

No other complaints yet. I will update my review if something arises.

Other Thoughts: I really hate it when companies round up their hard drive storage. I understand if it's a 495 GB hard drive that gets rounded up to 500, but 465 to 500 is too egregious.
