Pros: Great price for the capacity. 6.0 GB SATA, Toshiba reliability, great backup drive

Cons: It's not SSD

Other Thoughts: I suspect that some of the reviewers who thought the drive was "dead" didn't know how to open up DISK MANAGEMENT and format the drive. Its' common newbie errror. If anyone does receive a DOA drive, Newegg will pay shipping back and replace it immediately. It's a Win-win situation.

Pros: -Faster than old sata 3 hdds
-Not DOA
-Super quiet
-Hold 2tb of data

Cons: -The first one came DOA, but Newegg hooked me up.

Other Thoughts: Packaging seemed to be undamaged.

Other Thoughts: Of the 5 I ordered, one started clicking when I powered it up. One just wouldn't mount. I'm really disappointed in Toshiba's QC. They were packed extremely well.

Pros: Didn't work, n/a

Cons: Dead on arrival. Clicking and unresponsive. Never worked. This arrived at my home in good shape, with no physical damage to the box or drive. I've tried several different cables, setups, and hookups to get this going, but it's dead, Jim.

Other Thoughts: The RMA process with Toshiba is long and painful. It requires calling a number (only open M-F during the day), getting one number, then using that to go through the process to ship it back. Why this can't be automated online is obvious, right?
So if you think you can "just return it" if it doesn't work, expect THAT process to be long and painful too.
Note: I'm not commenting on Newegg's return process, which I've used with great success.

Pros: Low cost. Toshiba's 3.5" drives use technology previously belonging to Western-Digital. Since some W-D drives now share lineage with the IBM / Hitachi Deathstar line, I'm increasingly considering alternatives.

Cons: A bit noisy, if you're concerned with such things.

Other Thoughts: The drives went into a server inside a datacenter, so the noise is not a factor at all for me. The good performance at a relatively budget price is good. So far, I'm pleased. Toshiba drives are manufactured under technology previously in use by Western-Digital, so they should be reliable.

Pros: It worked great for 3 hours

Cons: Well, the clicking started and it soon died
This was not the Toshiba drives made by Hitachi.

I repurchased a Seagate

Pros: NONE

Cons: Drive was DOA packaged good no dents in box bubble wrapped and put in white box and paper around top of box that the drive was in but no paper around the bottom of the box

Pros: None!

If it had worked, 2TB and relatively Cheap (Again, If it worked)

Cons: Was RMA out of the Box!

I have to spend $12.01 to send it back (UPS). I love NewEgg and this won't stop me from shopping here, but NewEgg should be eating this cost.

Other Thoughts: Hooked it up to an External Enclosure (Upgrading from a Smaller Drive), no sooner did I hook it up, it started "Clanking".

Tried setting it up as a secondary drive in a PC as well, same result.

Also, change the "Star" Rating to leave no / 0 Stars. I mean, the Drive was dead and I had to pay to send it back, how is that worth "1" star?
