Careful if you run Apple G5
- Pros: Super quiet, when it runs, it runs great, at least the Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5".
- Cons: Samsung tech support said these do not work with Apple G5. Would have been nice to know that before three of them died: 1st Drive failed after 6 months, the easy to replace 2nd drive failed after 3 months, the easy to replace 3rd drive failed after 6 weeks.
- Other Thoughts: Samsung agreed to refund my purchase price in full rather than stubbornly insisting I keep replacing the drive with others that don't work with my machine (Yay!--I asked that they either refund me or pay for an external case with eSata or FW800 connectivity to try that configuration) but it took from April 6th, 2009 until November 16th , 2009 to actually get the check.
Not bad
- Pros: Works.
- Cons: Louder then my WD Black.
- Other Thoughts: Bought 2 of these for a raid 1 set up. These drives will be used to save many picutres and videos that I do not want to loose.
Try looking around a bit harder
- Pros: High capacity and good cache size. All of the specifications look top notch
- Cons: It's a bit pricey for a terabyte drive and unless you do data intensive operations if you are simply archiving you probably could buy a cheaper drive for half the price and be just as happy.
- Other Thoughts: I am happy with the purchase. I just could have bought a cheaper drive with the same capacity and been happy also. I am not running a Raid configuration and don't understand what that is but if you're looking for quality then this will be it, you'll just pay the cost.
