Other Thoughts: I bought 3 of these 6 months ago for my backup server - an old Dell P3 with stock PSU on a gigabit LAN. I needed lots of storage, low power, and low noise. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast these drives are. Faster than you would probably expect from a 5400 RPM drive (sorry no test specs I can remember, but these are NOT your old 5400 RPM drives), and plenty fast enough for my backup server. On 24/7 with nightly backups from 7 computer systems (one with 2 scheduled backups). [BTW - I recommend Acronis Workstation for Windows backups] Of special note is the low power consumption. Stock PSU for old P3 (forget it's rating and it's tucked away at the moment - probably not more than 200 watt). Also has gigabit LAN card, SATA PCI controller, USB 2.0 card, and CD-ROM drive (plus CPU, fan, and mobo power, of course). NO problems or read/write errors for 6 months. Super happy, and I can't speak highly enough of these drives. I plan to buy more!

Pros: As expected, this drive performed well out of the box. I've had several Samsung HDDs before and this one performs just as well as the ones I had.

Cons: None.

Pros: Good price at the time

Cons: Known problems with these drives. at least in some batches

Other Thoughts: 1 drive died within 30 days, newegg was awesome and actually refunded my money. the other drive died about 5 months after purchase. Samsung hopefully will replace with a drive that works. Otherwise will never buy a samsung drive again.

Pros: Great storage drive. Transfer rate on my 5400 Rpm drive is 30 MB/s. I've filled it up twice now and its holding up well.

Cons: I need another... right now.

Other Thoughts: I wish they were just alittle cheaper.. but its not a bad deal.
As i said in the pros their a 5400 rpm drive so there not good as a system drive in a computer you want to be fast. I used the Rosewill RX-358-S SLV Enclosure. They made the prefect match.

Pros: Bought 4 to run in a Raid on Media Center computer.
So far they have worked great. Very quite, and cool.
Bought cheap raid card and they have worked with it just fine.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: These aren't the fastest but they aren't supposed to be. They are meant for low noise, power, and temps.
They do exactly what they are supposed to.

Pros: No pros on drives that are DOA.

Cons: AJ-24 or AJ-26 error codes on each of 7 drives ordered.

Other Thoughts: Ordered 2 on a shipment then 5 on another over a month later. All 7 are paperweights. I do not know if its shipping or manufacturer related but I am done trying to get HDs from both Samsung and Newegg.

Pros: 1TB, works well. I use this drive daily with a Thermaltake BlacX "toaster" as data storage.

Cons: none yet

Pros: Bought 4 and put them in a RAID 5 NAS. They are on 24/7 and are only used for storage. Why go 7200 rpm for storage when they are only used for just that...storage. You can save power, reduce failure due to the lower spindle speeds and you don't even notice the slower speed. I will buy lots more of these for all my storage needs but I won't use them for my main OS drive. That is where you need the speed.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: quick, low power, cool, and cheap. What's not to like about them. Again, not for the main OS drive, use for storage only.

Pros: Put in, detected right away. Formatted it with NTFS and started putting it to use. Didn't notice any slow speeds despite its 5400 rpm.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: Will get 1-2 more to replace my 40gb's.

Pros: Quick drive, unbelievably quiet, stays cool.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on reliability yet since I haven't had it very long, but thus far I am impressed.
